Actvision had Bungie have released a new live-action trailer for Destiny, directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Cowboys & Aliens) and starring Giancarlo Esposito (Revolution television series). The 60 second ad revolves around the mythology of the Destiny-verse.

The PlayStation 3 version of the revamped MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be hitting shelves this coming August, Square Enix has announced. The publisher has also announced pre-order bonuses and a Collector's Edition.

It's official as EA now confirms the existence of Need for Speed: Rivals after a Frostbite developer tweeted about it a little earlier. The next instalment is being handled by Ghost Games. It's focusing on cops and racers.

We can choose to play as either with challenges and collectibles strewn through the world. In Rivals we rise in the ranks using all our pursuit and evade tricks. AllDrive has friends drop-in and out.

PlanetSide 2 updates to GU09, begins trialing new map system

The latest major tune-up of SOE's PlanetSide 2 is GU09 and it addresses the map system, which replaces the Hex-based conquest pathing with a series of 'Lattice Link' avenues of attack, helping control the chaos.

It means that installations now need to be hardlined into each other, and can't go 'wireless'. It's designed to make the battle flow simpler to follow, and not leave us scratching our heads.

Warner Brothers have announced they are to publisher Dead Island developer Techland's next major project called Dying Light, which features an open world with scavenging by day and survival by night.

Night-time brings with it increasingly dangerous levels of infected to beat back, using the gear and supplies we've scrapped together. It's for current and next-gen, as well as PC.

A Kickstarter by Fly Anvil is taking their Decision series into the Medieval timeline as they go from shooter to hack-and-slash. We need to defend our medieval town from horrible monsters through action and strategy.

We need to restore and control defensive towers, organising workers to repair and upgrade them, as well as lead our Knight into battle securing the town and training militia.

The UK Kickstarter for adventure game The Realm failed achieving less than half its £195k goal, which developer Atomhawk attributes to "lack of US payments", and they'll work on showing game footage.

The Realm is a point-and-click adventure with an Ico-inspired emotional tether between two characters. A girl adventures out to find a cure for her sick mother, and befriends a stone golem.

Developer Rockstar Games has announced the full details surrounding those retailer leaked glimpses of a Collector's Edition for Grand Theft Auto V, as well as a smaller Special Edition.

One of EA's staff on the Frostbite engine team has revealed a little early the existence of Need for Speed: Rivals, which is said to be in the works for current and next-gen consoles over at Ghost Games.

More details on Rivals are expected to spill out soon, with it possibly being a kind of sequel to PSP's Need for Speed: Underground Rivals. Number plates suggest it's out November.

Capcom scraps 'blood pool' PR stunt in UK following Woolwich murder

The UK is still reeling from the recent brutal event that occurred in Woolwich where a young army cadet was murdered in a suspected terrorist attack. This has led to Capcom cancelling a planned PR stunt.

Frankly, even without this tragedy, the stunt in mind was of questionable taste. Capcom UK was going to have a "blood swimming pool" in London to mark Resident Evil Revelations launch.

Is Crackdown 3 in the works for Xbox One? During the Next Xbox event a few slides of the new dashboard were shown off to journalists, and one appears to include a cheeky little Easter Egg.

A green orb was spotted in the bottom left corner, which is remarkably like the green orbs found in Crackdown that you hunt while exploring the city. Microsoft plan 15 Xbox One exclusives.

Maxis has released the 4.0 update for SimCity, and one of the additions included in the patch is a special park that only early adopters will receive. Other fixes include an improvement of emergency response time and the Edgewater Bay region.
