BioWare has already announced they have long-term DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, but now Mass Effect 2 looks to be getting the same.

A Microsoft Expert Zone quiz for retailers reveals big DLC coming to the sci-fi sequel, like new worlds, characters, gear packs and more.

All that levelling up through experience won't do for Final Fantasy XIII, so they've introduced the Crystalium System, with Crystal Points.

After each battle you get CP which can be spent on 'growing' roles with new skills and abilities, like unlocking more powerful Fire.

Gearbox patch Xbox 360 Borderlands, "will deploy fixes" to others

Developer Gearbox Software have updated the Xbox 360 version of Borderlands with bug fixes, with the PS3 and PC editions to follow suit soon enough the studio affirms to users.

I'm sure Xbox 360 gamers are glad to hear the "introductory quests" should always progress as intended now, as will fellow platforms. They're "continuing work on support updates".

Petition springs up for PC Space Marine, Relic tease gamer impact

Developer Relic Entertainment has said they're "always looking at feedback" from the community, and tease that a continued "strong desire" for PC could yield something.

An online petition is currently floating on the Internet, and it hopes to convince team Relic to bring their upcoming Warhammer 40K: Space Marine action/RPG to PC as well as console.

Final Fantasy XIII ad casting call shows Square revealing US date

A search for a script reader by the Liz Paulson Casting ad agency in Los Angeles has shown Square Enix's plans to reveal the US release date for Final Fantasy XIII in an ad.

It will offer an "exclusive never before seen look" of Square's latest before 'panning back' to unveil the US retail date, currently just spring 2010. It releases in Japan on December 17th.

Game-crippling bug found in Borderlands, there "isn't a fix just yet"

A rather nasty bug has been found in Borderlands, and not the colourful type you smoosh with guns or fists in-game. This bug is linked to all three platforms when going online.

It can cause, though it's frequency is "very low", all character skills to be wiped clean. Developer Gearbox hope to "repair as much" character data loss as possible, when fixed.

The Steam version of Gearbox Software's colourful Borderlands, the one with all those guns in it, wasn't intentionally edited for censorship at all. It's all just a pre-load mistake.

For gamers Down Under, the pre-loading period for Borderlands was giving them an "incorrect version" to download. It's been replaced now, and so 2K asks you delete and re-download.

Rumour-mill: Amazon UK shows Interplay classics re-releasing soon

Retailer Amazon has its UK website showing some interesting wares, for this week no less, that Interplay is re-releasing a tide of old RPG gems in single and bundle form.

Oldies like Plane Scape Torment, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 and Icewind Dale have been listed, with the new PEGI ratings. They're scheduled for release October 30th, with full XP and Vista support.

The impending early November arrival of Dragon Age: Origins will be simultaneous across Xbox 360,PS3 and PC announces BioWare. The PS3 version won't be held back after all.

That news may be true for North America but the RPG developer is yet to extend the joy to UK shores, saying they'll have something "on that shortly." It's out November 6th in Europe.

Developer Bethesda is keeping any activity on a new Elder Scrolls game very close to their chest, but a newly synopsised novel from Greg Keyes has given fans a whooping hint.

The Elder Scrolls: Infernal City, Keyes' book, "partly bridges the gap" between Oblivion and the "next game". The events in the novel itself are set 45 years after The Elder Scrolls IV.

The spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate is almost upon us, and developer BioWare has finally put PS3 gamer minds at ease by confirming a solid release date for their copies.

It will be arriving on Xbox 360 and PC early November. Bioware's Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuck will be having a livechat with the EU PlayStation.Blog later today, revealing something.

Interplay countersuits Bethesda, cites terms violated and bad faith

Fallout IP holder Bethesda brought legal proceedings against Interplay for contractual breaches, no less than ten apparently, but now Interplay is angry enough to countersue.

They allege Bethesda went around blabbing to business partners that Interplay had no licensing rights, in bad faith, causing them a lot more financial hardship. Wants IP back.

Molyneux gives nod to Natal, micro-transactions store for Fable III

Lionhead Studios is busy working Fable III, which sees the player's hero become the reigning King or Queen of all Albion. Boss Peter Molyneux has confirmed it'll have Natal.

Not only will the latest Fable have motion tech, but an in-game store with micro-transactions will likely make an appearance. It would offer items, but features haven't been nailed down yet.

Gearbox "very pleased" with Borderlands PS3 fix, co-op okay now

Borderlands has released on Xbox 360 and PS3 but the latter was found to be stricken with a serious bout of anti-social behaviour. The PS3 game wouldn't recognise PSN friends.

Players were also waiting long times for public games. Developer Gearbox has fixed the PSN friends list issue, with a solution "released invisibly" so gamers don't have to do anything.

Namco admits "desire to make" Tales of Vesperia 2, is "thinking" it

Makoto Yoshizumi of Namco, the general manager, has said how he told staff not to "talk like a fan," when they asked about a Tales of Vesperia sequel during internal meetings.

There's "a desire to make part 2" at Namco confirmed Yoshizumi-san, and right now they're "thinking about it." Tales of Vesperia heads to PlayStation 3 soon, having enjoyed the Xbox 360.

Toulouse: Microsoft "hitting" Forza 3, Borderlands illegals with ban

Anyone caught playing ill gotten Forza Motorsport 3 or Borderlands will face a permanent ban from Xbox Live warns Microsoft's head bouncer, Stephen Toulouse.

Gamers who've managed to score a copy early, and have paid for said score, don't have anything to fear from them. Toulouse notes "if you got a receipt, play away"; others may cower.

BioWare date Mass Effect 2 for late January, spill on pre-order loot

Commander Shepard's return has been confirmed as January 29th in the UK and Europe, with developer BioWare also unveiling what pre-order goodies come with Mass Effect 2.

Terminus Gear and Inferno Armour each have their perks and will be available from retailers yet to be named, as DLC. Mass Effect 2 is BioWare's 'Empire Strikes Back' chapter.

Alpha Protocol is officially delayed, Sega push RPG to "Spring 2010"

Obsidian Entertainment's action-RPG Alpha Protocol was scheduled to be imminently with us, but then retailers went and started slapping a 2010 date on it. Sega finally speaks.

The publisher confirms the game no longer has a home in '09, and it'll instead be releasing in spring 2010. Obsidian "very happy" it has been delayed to give it the "best chance" next year.

Gearbox announce Borderlands first DLC, it's got zombie trouble

Next week for Xbox 360 and PS3, Gearbox's colourful Borderlands will launch and then it arrives for PC gamers the week after that. The first DLC piece has just been tattled on.

It'll involve a whole region swarming with zombies, where the player will have to help out a Dr. Zed. Quests are about trying to "cure the inhabitants" of this unfortunate turn of events.

Runic "big fans" of Steam, Torchlight now available on it "day one"

Developer Runic planned a 30 day exclusivity period where the action-RPG and Diablo-like Torchlight would only sell on the official site, before migrating to platforms like Steam.

Things have changed. Runic say it's important it becomes as "widely available as possible" and so will be "starting day one" on Steam. This first game from Runic is on sale October 27th.
