Everyone remembers Z The Game right? That classic RTS game featuring rocket fuelled robots lead by a memorable character named Commander Zod.

Well, the 21st Century reissue of The Bitmap Brothers' classic is now available according to digital publisher Kiss' press release, although we've just checked the listing on Steam and it says 4th July, which is in two days...

Team17 signs on Unicube's Strategy Survival Game Sheltered

Team17 announced this afternoon that it has signed on a post-apocalyptic strategy game called Sheltered, which is in development by newly formed indie developer Unicube based in Shrewsbury, to its third-party publishing program.

"We've been long-time fans of the Worms franchise. They were some of the first games we played on our PCs when we were younger. To think we're now working alongside them is a bit surreal. We're really excited about working with Team17 over the next year, and think we have a bright future ahead!" said Sonny Meek and Dean Foster, co-owners, at Unicube.

Paradox Interactive reveals third expansion, Res Publica, for Europa Universalis IV

Paradox Development Studio today announced the third expansion for Europa Universalis IV, the grand strategy game of empire-building and global domination.

Res Publica is a mini expansion that introduces new systems of governance and trade to the game, including an all-new government type and several new Idea Groups for players to explore. The mini expansion is scheduled to release this summer for Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs.

Pirates and Raiders Culture Pack out now for Total War: Rome II

The recently announced Pirates and Raiders Culture Pack for Creative Assembly's Total War: Rome II is now available. After parting with some of you hard earned denarii, three new factions become playable.

Ardiaei of Illyria, and the Thracian tribes of Tylis and the Odrysian Kingdom make up the new Culture Pack. Each comes with their own military and naval units, as well as traits and religions.

Paradox Development Studios has just released the Wealth of Nations expansion for grand strategy Europa Universalis IV, not to mention the very welcomed addition of patch 1.6 brimming with free features.

This second expansion focuses more on trade and all that it entails; diplomacy, war and swashbuckling privateers. We can now establish trade companies to manage far off lands.

Have ludicrous fantasies of brutalising bad guys? Indie developer Exkee is releasing Kill The Bad Guy today for PC, Mac and Linux through digital stores including Steam. We plot fiendish 'accidents' and unleash them.

The goal is to murder-most-foul bad guys whilst making them appear as accidents, like a lawnmower rocketing across the street, or the ever classic dangling piano.

Stronghold Crusader 2 releasing September 2nd

Firefly Studios has marked September 2nd on the calendar for Stronghold Crusader 2 as the day it will release worldwide. It was "never our intent" to rush, says the studio co-founder and lead designer, Simon Bradbury.

They are "about to go into final testing" as their confidence swells, with public demos at EGX London, Rezzed and PAX East. Retail and digital copies will launch September 2nd.

Proxy Studios' turn-based 4X Pandora is now available to purchase through Steam with it releasing May 30th, but also lurking on the horizon is an expansion featuring a new alien race and gameplay.

Return of the Messari includes a new alien faction with a major role as the original civilization of Pandora returns to the planet. Steam keys for previous owners.

Paradox Interactive brings us word that the next expansion for Europa Universalis IV - Wealth of Nations - will be pulling into port May 29th. It has many new diplomatic and trading riches to share with us.

Pre-orders have begun through the official Paradox Store for £9.99. Wealth of Nations strengthens the trading features for EUIV, and lets us create all-new conflicts around them.

Pirates and Raiders Culture Pack for Total War: Rome II alongside "free LC"

Creative Assembly have announced a new Culture Pack for Total War: Rome II that adds the factions of Ardiaei, the Odrysian Kingdom and Tylis, which call the European Balkans their home.

This makes the first playable Thracian and Dacian factions for Rome II, but Creative are also releasing "free LC" with the Getae, another Balkan people, plus an historical battle.

The latest patch for real-time strategy StarCraft II is due out this week for all regions and Blizzard has now revealed what tweaks it has inside. This particular patch focuses mostly on the Friends List.

Our list of chums should now "sort correctly based on friend type," and chat messages appear if you're set to 'Busy'. The counter for new messages should also work properly.

Civilization 4 designer announces real-time strategy Offworld Trading Company

Lead designer Soren Johnson of Civilization 4 is now co-founder of indie Mohawk Games and they've just announced their first project. It's a real-time strategy based on economics called Offworld Trading Company.

Money "is the heart" of the RTS, where we sell excess resources and then buy low on what we need. Trade prices and stock fluctuate all in real-time.

War; it's expensive. Muzzy Lane's Making History: The Great War will have us balancing the budget as well as overseeing our industrial capacity to feed the war machines. This new dev diary examines the cogs of industry.

The studio has separated the production of hardware, like tanks and planes, from troop recruitment this time around. This is to better reflect a nation's war-time capabilities, they say.

Paradox Interactive has quite a treat for today as they release Dev Diary 9: Policies & Ideas & More for Europa Universalis IV: Wealth of Nations, but they accompany that with the first video dairy for the expansion.

The blog goes into detail of changes being made to policies, ideas and new concepts for modifiers, like splitting missionary strength. The video diary is a broader overview.

DoubleBear Productions' zombie survivalist RPG and strategy Dead State has just been updated on Steam Early Access. Character creation is now available, along with new locations and two random encounters.

Now the studio can focus "improving on and building out" current features instead of adding all-new ones, and this update represents "a small amount" of their overall work.

The spiritual-Syndicate-successor Satellite Reign is well underway and this latest "text heavy" developer diary focuses on the game's code, and they revealed they've got a "few major systems" up and running.

They discuss the first pass on weaponry, the AI 'state' system made up of "lots of smaller building blocks", the event system determining behaviour, and even traffic jams.

The latest dev diary from Paradox Development Studios for the Wealth of Nations expansion for Europa Universalis IV is the second to look at more "free features" coming in patch 1.6; they're not DLC dependent.

The 'Macro Build Interface' has undergone a "big rework" and so now it also lets us core provinces, send missionaries etc. They tweaked loans, Holy Roman reforms and calling allies.

A new dev dairy from Paradox Development Studios examines briefly the changes being made to production in Hearts of Iron IV, as they split industry into three different categories to better reflect historical accuracy.

Civilian industry is now separate from the military, which itself splits between dockyards and equipment. Also they have simplified the economy to just 'raw resources'.

SEGA has announced that the standalone multiplayer release of Company of Heroes 2: The Western Front Armies will be taking the action back between the Allies and Axis near the end of June.

The Western Front Armies can be bought as one, or the armies sold separately if you're not interested in commanding the opposing side. Pre-orders give two unique vehicle skins.

Firaxis' XCOM: Enemy Unknown has had its cover blown by a nosy-parker who spotted the turn-based strategy lurking within the Steam database with penguins of a dubious nature. It's possible they're extra-terrestrial.

Steam has been making a big push for Linux especially as their SteamOS is based off it. It makes sense Firaxis would want their XCOM reboot ready for Steam Machines.
