| GDC: Indie developers discuss what makes games | |
| Posted: 18.02.2008 23:14 by | |
It's difficult to say what defines a game. Obviously, there are lots of different factors, and at GDC this morning there was a conference with three developers who were discussing just that. What they talk about is actually very, very deep, considering things like the psychology behind gaming, what makes games fun, and what people want out of games these days. Headed by the main developers for flOw and Everyday Shooter, and one other indie developer, this is one of the few things about the gaming industry that makes people who work in it proud to do what they do. via Destructoid

Before the launch of Spore, which is due in September, EA shall hopefully let the world-over get their creative hands dirty in the primordial soup. The tool will let you create creatures which can then be exported into the full retail game.
There's been no official date or even whether such a thing will be free but anything that lets us wanna be Gods/evolutionists get closer to Will Wrights latest mega-galactic-sandbox creation is great news indeed.
