Ubisoft releases new patch for PC version of Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

Ubisoft announced today that it will be releasing new patches for two of its recent PC releases, the first patch will bring Assassin's Creed to version 1.02, and the second patch will give an update to Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 bringing it to version 1.02.

World of Warcraft 2.4.2 Patch released

Blizzard Entertainment and Vivendi Universal have released the 2.4.1 to 2.4.2 patch for World of Warcraft. This ~15MB patch focuses on gameplay enhancements, but also makes some UI adjustments and, of course, corrects bugs.

LEGO Indiana Jones Demo released

Lucas Arts and Traveller's Tales have released a demo of LEGO Indiana Jones. The game, due to be released this June, will follow the storyline of the three films. Visit the official site for more info.

Age of Conan beta sign-ups reach 1 million

Funcom and Eidos announced today that the Age of Conan beta test has reached the 1 million sign-up stage, confirming that the game is one of the most anticipated MMO's to date.

“Funcom has not been able to find any higher beta numbers for MMOs in the western world,” said Morten Larssen, VP of Funcom Sales and Marketing. “We believe it represents the largest ever beta sign-up figure in the history of the genre.”

Blizzard Entertainment today announced its plans for the third BlizzCon gaming convention, to be held at Anaheim Convention Center in California on 10th and 11th of October, 2008. lizzCon is a celebration of the global player communities surrounding Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo franchises. In response to the demand to accommodate more attendees, this year’s event has expanded from two convention halls to three.

BioWare relent to fan outcries, no mandatory 10-day authentication

Mass Effect for PC would have carried with it a new SecuROM protection programmed to require the user re-authenticate every 10 days.

BioWare have said they won't make this demand anymore, now it requires only to be re-authenticated when applying for downloadable content, take that DRM!
