Sin City gets early 2009 release date

Red Mile Interactive are currently developing a game based on Sin City. The developer recently informed MCV that the title would be released in early 2009, giving us a release date to look forward to.

We haven't heard anything about platforms yet, but we presume that it'll be released on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 along with a Wii version. Frank Miller will also be heavily involved with the development of the game, making sure it sticks close to the comics, which we're pleased about.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm Demo

Relic Entertainment brings you the demo of their upcoming expansion pack for Dawn of War. Soulstorm adds 2 new races to the game, the Dark Eldar and the Sisters of Battle. It also adds aerial units to the game, finally. The expansion is slated for release in early March.

Supreme Commander 1.1.320 Patch released

Gas Powered Games have released the 1.1.320 patch for Supreme Commander. This patch does one thing only: adds compatibility for amBX support. For those unaware, amBX (ambient experiences) provides a way to enhance your audio-visual experience through the use of external devices such as a rumble generator and fans. This patch comes in two flavors: one that updates you 1.0.3189 game, and the other that updates your 1.1.3269 game version. Go directly to the downloads page to get the patch if amBX interests you.

Fireglow announces release date for Sudden Strike 3 in US

Fireglow Games announced this afternoon that Sudden Strike 3: Arms for Victory will be released in North America on 10th March 2008.

Codemasters to reveal next MMO at Connect 2008

Codemasters Online announced this morning that they plan to reveal their new MMO game at an upcoming event called Connect 2008 which features online gaming and is to be held at Birmingham in March.

The unannounced game is meant to be scheduled for a release in 2008, which is why they'll be showing a fully playable version for the very first time at this event.

Resident Evil pre-painted 1/6 scale statues

Gaya Entertainment, a company based in Germany that creates collectible merchandise, has designed six 1/6 statues for Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles which look absolutely brilliant. They are officially licensed by Capcom and each model will only have 1500 copies made, making them very rare in the future.

Silverlode Interactive is currently developing Saga for the PC, which is the worlds first collectible MMMORTS game. In Saga players will be able to collect armies, spells and weapons for use in massive online battles against other foes and rivals.

It’s now time to turn a bleary and gin-sodden eye (drinking gin is a large part of “method designing” for Empire Total War) to matters military in the 18th century and in particular land warfare in the period. I can promise that the next few installments are not going to be a detailed history lesson – hurrah! – but more a gallop through the subject – huzzah! – while backhanding matters of interest with a sabre – swish! – from time to time.
