Midway Games today announced its product portfolio to be shown at the 2008 E3 Business & Media Summit, July 15th to 17th in Los Angeles. This year's lineup showcases exciting new intellectual properties such as Wheelman starring action film star Vin Diesel, proven brands such as Unreal Tournament 3 from world renowned developer Epic Games, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, and entertainment for the casual gamer such as the sequel to Game Party. | |

Quake Live is the "free and easily accessible browser-based" shooter title from Id Software that's based on Quake 3 Arena, announced last year.
There's big prize money from the likes of Intel and Alienware too with id saying a raffle-winner, with special limited entry, could score a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe. | |

The videogames publisher says that aren't tied to the project but that there is "a collaboration between" franchise creator Jordan Mechner and Disney.
The film is based upon the Sands of Time game, released in 2003. Jake Gyllenhaal is to play the lead as our favourite platforming Prince with the movie due out next summer. | |

The Official Operation Flashpoint 2 website has just been launched, and it brings news of a release date change from Winter to 2009. If you click the video tab on the website, you'll see that a trailer is expected to be released on 11th July, this Friday. We will have the trailer up for viewing on Strategy Informer too, once its made available. | |

EALA Community Manager Justin Korthof let Strategy Informer know that Tiberium, a Command and Conquer FPS title, will not be making an appearance at this years E3. “Just to update you, we will not be showing Tiberium at E3 this year. The team’s priorities have them 100% heads down in making an awesome gameplay experience, and they’re going to remain focused on that. The big push will be starting later this year, though, so you’ll be getting plenty of new goodies then!” said Korthof. | |

David Perry, the man for Earthworm Jim and MDK games, has said adopting free game releases where gamers are charged for in-game luxuries will help beat piracy.
The idea isn't entirely alien to us Westerners with a number of titles being released and supported by in-game ads and micro-transactions. So, pirates best beware? | |

Eidos' creative director Ian Livingstone has said the United Kingdom has become the hardest financially to develop games, while the Government "does nothing" to help fix it.
He says that with cheaper labour markets in Asia and subsidy programmes like those in Canada, British developers are becoming easy targets "by overseas companies". | |

From several reports it would seem that not only is it going to get the Hollywood treatment but David Hayter, voice of Solid Snake, may very well be writing the script.
It's expected that Capcom will be making a film related announcement at E3, and recently Hayter was talking Lost Planet nearing a Warner Bros. movie deal just last week. | |
