Electronic Arts has finally released screen shots of the latest instalment in the Need For Speed series. The game does look good, but do we really need another NfS game so soon? I'm just not sure if it's gonna be worth buying. Unless I see something inovative, I might have to pass this one up. But check out the screens for yourselves and let me know what you think of it!

New release date for Gran Turismo 5
In a very interesting statement at E3, GT series creator Kazunori Yamauchi had both good and bad news. The good news is that he confirmed that the Polyphony Digital team was focusing nearly all of their efforts on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, working hard to bring us features like vehicular damage, private online races, new tracks, and more cars. He added that these updates could push the full version of Gran Turismo 5 back into 2010! He also confirmed that Gran Turismo Mobile, for the PSP, is still in “active development” but probably not be released until after Gran Turismo 5 (in other words, 2011).

NFS Undercover
EA games has revealed the next charter in the Need For Speed series entitled, Need for Speed: Undercover. By the sound of the game the first thing that may come to mind is that the games about a cop that goes “Undercover” to try and stop a underground racing circuit but, it’s not my place to give details about any games at this point.
The game is being developed by one of EA Vancouver’s two Need of Speed teams. The Need for Speed team was split into two teams giving each team more time to give yearly updates for the franchise. Instead of having one team only 12 months to create the next installment, giving each team a full two years to work on the game.
John Riccitiello said Need for Speed Undercover would roll out later this year.
No consoles were specified for Undercover, but given the franchise's history, we'd expect to see it hit every major system.

Gran Turismo 5
Gran Turismo 5 is the fifth edition of Sony/Polyphony Digital's racing video game series, Gran Turismo. Expanding on the Prologue version, which was first released in Japan in October 2007 and intended to give an impression of the final game, it will be the first of the main numbered series to feature on the PlayStation 3.
As found in the Prologue, and for the first time in the numbered Gran Turismo series, the game is set to feature cars from Ferrari, including the Ferrari F2007 Formula One world championship car. In addition to Prologue features, it will also include the Top Gear Test Track featured in the BBC motoring show, and will greatly expand on the number of cars available, to over 900. As well as Ferraris there will also be other super cars featured such as the Audi R8 and Ford GT because they have featured in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and therfore will be found in GT5. (Just like Gran Turismo 4 Prologue and Gran Turismo 4 on the PlayStation 2). There will also be a 16 player online mode as in GT5 Prologue.
In an April 2008 interview, Kazunori Yamauchi revealed that 150 people had worked on Gran Turismo 5 for four years, with all of Polyphony Digital's 120 employees working on GT5, and the game costing 50 times more to develop than the original Gran Turismo. He also confessed that GT5 might not be released until after 2009.
