Sony and Polyphony Digital have both decided to cancel the retail release of Gran Turismo HD; instead they’ll be including it as a free download, probably because so many people complained about having to buy the content. Sony had planned to release Gran Turismo HD in Japan later this month.

The game was going to be cheap to buy but it would come with hardly any content, users would have to buy the content they wanted, this would come to a great sum of money if you wanted all the tracks and cars on offer.

They’ll now be working on Gran Turismo 5, this will be available in retail and it’ll be a full release; expect to see the same amount or more content which has been featured in past Gran Turismo games.
