At midnight 7th/8th December Nintendo launches its revolutionary new home console Wii in the UK with a midnight store opening at HMV on London’s Oxford Street. Kicking off at 23.15 and hosted by top sporting celebrities including, football legend Ian Wright, boxing champion Ricky Hatton, tennis star Pat Cash and fitness fanatic Nell McAndrew - HMV will be the place to be!

With Wii already selling over 600,000 units in the US, followed by a hugely successful launch on the 2nd December in Japan, it is the most hotly anticipated console launch ever seen in the UK. Queues of thousands of fans waited for hours in New York’s Times Square at the end of November and a substantial number of eager fans are expected to turn up to get their hands on one of this year’s must-have Christmas presents!

Photo opportunities available on the night will include:
• Consumers queuing outside the store (22.30)
• Ian Wright, Nell McAndrew, Ricky Hatton and Pat Cash arriving at HMV – group shots, single shots, meeting consumers in the queue (23.00)
