The Force Almost Unleashed
Well, I just finished The Force Unleashed! While this is hardly the best Star Wars game ever made, it's still worth checking out. Specially if your a SW fan.
The game felt like it was rushed through production though. I found some details in the story that didn't quite add up to the movies. From what I understand, Galen Marek (aka Starkiller) is more or less the same age as Luke. So wouldn't the Rebel Alliance be around already?! The leaders get together for the first time according to the game, even though the Alliance formed right after Palpatine declared himself Emperor. So that was kinda weird, but oh well.
I was a little disappointed in the gameplay as well. I thought they'd at least add some puzzles here and there, like they did with the Jedi Knight series. While the game is mostly a hack & slash style game, the fighting can get pretty entertaining (nothing like picking up an enemy, force shock 'em till they're almost dead, then force push them a few miles into the air!). If only they could have solved some of the little issues before releasing it (like bad framerate, glitchy controls and a sometimes crap camera). It's not bad enough to ruin the game, but it does manage to annoy the heck out you! But a lot of those annoyances sort of disappear when you stop to look at the level design. The graphics are freaking awesome!!! It actually made me forget about some of the technical problems for awhile! But overall they still could have done a lot more with this game. But hey! At least it gives us Star Wars freaks something to do while we wait for the TV series! :D
I give it an 8 out of 10.

The Clone Wars
Lightsabers, starships, creatures and characters -- in 1977, Star Wars introduced a host of screen icons that helped define the cinematic landscape. Now, more than 30 years later, Lucasfilm Animation is re-imagining the distinctive look of "a galaxy far, far away" for an all-new, weekly animated TV series -- Star Wars: The Clone Wars. For supervising director Dave Filoni -- a diehard fan himself -- this was no small task, and not something to be taken lightly.

"We had to stay true to the spirit of Star Wars and the look that had been established in the movies," Filoni said. "There was fantastic work done by production designers like John Barry, Norman Reynolds and Gavin Bocquet, and it was our job to reflect that, but through animation. But The Clone Wars shows us more of the galaxy than we ever saw in the live-action films, so we had to forge plenty of new ground, as well."

The first step was the most difficult -- developing an overall look and feel for the series. Filoni and executive producer George Lucas decided on a radical departure. Rather than re-creating the photo-realistic world of the live-action films, they would design a stylized galaxy that instead embraced the essence of the Star Wars Saga. With striking angles and an aggressive, innovative "shooting" style, the result is both cinematic and distinctly animated.

"We wanted to create something unique and fun," Filoni explains. "The movies are so recognizable, and we wanted to capture that flavor, but we also wanted our series characters to live on their own. With 30 years of history, there are a lot of expectations that come with a new Star Wars installment, and we wanted to be clear that this was going to be different from what had come before."

One of the most striking design elements is the use of noticeable textures in every frame. "Many of the backgrounds look painted, while the characters and physical objects look almost like they have been created by hand," Filoni said. "Working in computer animation, it's easy to make everything look clean, but imperfection is far more interesting."

In addition to the unique design and meticulous attention to detail, Star Wars: The Clone Wars ushered in a new way to conceive and produce stories on a weekly basis, said producer Catherine Winder.

"Since the earliest days, animation has been produced using two-dimensional storyboards to plan out the action," she said. "With The Clone Wars, George Lucas wanted us to try something totally new, a process he had utilized extensively on the live-action movies."

Story artists working on Star Wars: The Clone Wars "sketched" every scene using a computer program that allowed them to visualize the action in three dimensions. The result, Filoni said, allows greater experimentation and offers the creative team unprecedented flexibility. "We can pre-visualize each shot like never before, which allows us to dive into the action and do things that, before this, were literally impossible. That's the beauty of designing a new type of Star Wars entertainment: virtually nothing is impossible."

Star Wars: The Clone Wars debuts on Cartoon Network Friday, Oct. 3, at 9 pm. (ET/PT).

Third Darth Bane Novel!!!
Now before you think, "oh great, another book. yaaawn", let me give you some info about the author.
Drew Karpyshyn is a Canadian author and game designer. He joined BioWare towards the end of the Baldur's Gate series, and wrote the tie-in novel for Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal. He stayed with BioWare, where he worked on Neverwinter Nights, and became the Senior Writer on the critically acclaimed Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. This Star Wars connection gave him the opportunity to write Darth Bane: Path of Destruction and its sequel, his first hardcovers. Karpyshyn still works for BioWare; he was the lead writer for Mass Effect, and is currently working on its sequel. In 2007, he quickly wrote a sequel to Path Of Destruction, Darth Bane: Rule of Two.
Here's what Karpyshyn said about the third Bane novel.
"So I know what you’re all wondering: will Zannah kill Bane? Will Bane kill Zannah? Will we meet any other apprentices? Sorry, but I can’t answer any of those questions. I don’t even know exactly when the novel is scheduled for release (although I think winter/spring of 2010 is a good bet). I will tell you that I need to have the manuscript done by March, so that gives me plenty of time to put together a worthy successor to the first two novels."
Looks like we'll have to wait awhile yet.

The Force Unleashed (novel)
Along with the comic, it will feature the storyline of the game and the fate of Darth Vader's apprentice at the end of the book. Although the game will have multiple endings, the book and comic will follow the sole canonical ending. For the moment, the plot is unknown, but much information has been revealed since the game's announcement. Along with the comic, the book's release will be timed around the release of the game.
The overthrow of the Republic is complete. The Separatist forces have been smashed, the Jedi Council nearly decimated, and the rest of the Order all but destroyed. Now absolute power rests in the iron fist of Darth Sidious–the cunning Sith lord better known as the former Senator, now Emperor, Palpatine. But more remains to be done. Pockets of resistance in the galaxy must still be defeated and missing Jedi accounted for . . . and dealt with. These crucial tasks fall to the Emperor’s ruthless enforcer, Darth Vader. In turn, the Dark Lord has groomed a lethal apprentice entrusted with a top-secret mission: to comb the galaxy and dispatch the last of his masters’ enemies, thereby punctuating the dark side’s victory with the Jedi’s doom.
Since childhood, Vader's nameless agent has known only the cold, mercenary creed of the Sith. His past is a void; his present, the carrying out of his deadly orders. But his future beckons like a glistening black jewel with the ultimate promise: to stand beside the only father he has ever known, with the galaxy at their feet. It is a destiny he can realize only by rising to the greatest challenge of his discipleship: destroying Emperor Palpatine.
The apprentice’s journeys will take him across the far reaches of the galaxy, from the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk to the junkyard planet of Raxus Prime. On these missions, the young Sith acolyte will forge an unlikely alliance with a ruined Jedi Master seeking redemption and wrestle with forbidden feelings for his beautiful comrade, Juno Eclipse. And he will be tested as never before–by shattering revelations that strike at the very heart of all he believes and stir within him long-forgotten hopes of reclaiming his name . . . and changing his destiny.
