Another day, another competition ends. We decided to keep it simple this time, so no hoops to jump through and open to all. Through divine inspiration and a rather engaging round of poker, we've got our winners:

We just keep giving and giving don't we? You know I'm not even sure where all these prizes are coming from. I wake up some days and there they are, just sitting and staring at me. The police keep coming round as well, enquiring about robberies and break-ins... very weird.

Anyway, to celebrate the latter half of the Christmas period, we've now teamed up with Codemasters (again) to bring you another competition for The Lord of the Rings Online. This one's different, as you get the chance to win a physical boxed copy of the game.

This is going to be a simple one - simply post below saying "I'm in", and we'll pick the names out of a hat.

As if that's not enough, we've also partnered with Codemasters to bring you an extra special prize. One lucky person has the chance to win 100,000 LOTRO points, which let me tell you is a butt-load of points. It would basically set you up for life on the game.

This competition is open to everyone - new players, old players... it's also seperate to the main competition above, so you don't need to apply for both or anything. Not sure about the points part of the competition Hero. If you go through to the LOTRO site, it might tell you whether or not you can try and bag that at least.

I was just wondering, does the boxed copy of the game mean that players will get VIP or Premium status, or is it just the Free-to-Play installer DVD with some extra stuff?

I guess I'll join too. I'm in, never tried LOTR Online because of the fee, but since being free I wanted to try it out, but then I heard it had limitations.. so I preferred not to play... ahaha Maybe that'll change with points for life! ... For life!! :O

The limitations aren't that bad only 2classes are on paytoplay, and you can get Turbine Points if you play the game, quests, achievements and all kinds of stuff you do in the game, i have currently a lvl 20 Man LoreMaster on Evernight server so if you wana play send me a PM :)

It means that the 100,000 LOTR Points is a separate competition where it's hosted by 'LOTR Europe' - and to enter that you need to register on the site.??

Ok, looks like the CMS doesn't like the link for some reason, I can't get it to work.

The link itself is correct though, as I copy and Pasted it into my address bar and everything was fine.

LOL, good luck BoneArc with the 360, "mine" is still someplace unknown, maybe it got late because of the weather, or they don't send it to my country since it is a 3rd world country and all, or someone in the Post office took it home with them as a Christmas present (sniff,sniff). Nice, but I won a Cataclysm pack and I tried LOTRO, I have to say I like Wow more, although I read the LOTR books dozens of times and I love the movies and so... And I don't really like all the micro-transaction. Also, I won 10,000 points once, and it said it was submitted, but didn't come on my account, and the US and EU sites overlap, while you can use only one client with a corresponded account etc.. It's just too much of a hassle to actually just play a game.

A quick question, but do the developers of LOTRO consider the UK seperate to the EU? I know it's officially a member, but sometimes a distinction is made for things like games and whatnot.

A photon torpedo right up your One Ring should fix things nicely (might fire a spread of 3 to make sure I get you all). Then again if you can't find the ring, I can replicate one for a small fee:)
