And that's a wrap! Well done everyone! Well, I say well done... poor performance from some of you regulars, but never mind.

Now because we had so many new people turn up for this one, I changed the rules slightly - the Top FOUR posters win a prize, and then I took everyone who had registered recently and picked a name out of a hat.

Hey Audience. So, we were waiting for another competition to be finalised before we ran it, however it's taking longer than we thought. Luckily, we here at Strategy Informer have a mental disability called Hoarding, so we have a Plan B.

Creative Assembly's Total War: Shogun 2 is a masterpiece of a strategy game, and a great homage to the title that started it all. You can read our review of the game here (written by yours truly), but we'd like to offer you the opportunity to find out what it's like for yourself.

The Prizes

The Competition

Back to basics again this time - post below saying "I'm In" and try and remain active over the next couple of weeks. Again, top five posters will win the prize.

* The rule banning people from entering twice in a row is now back in effect, so if you enter this competition, you won't be able to enter the next one.

* The competition will finish on Tuesday 2nd August.

Perfectly stable on my system. Except for Steam I have no problems.

Though I'd still add that I never played a less stable game then Shogun 2. Often I find myself thinking of putting it in the computer and burning the whole house down with it. I don't know how it works stable for you Roderick but it doesn't for me. It's not like I bought my computer on Mars. So I blame them!

Hahahaha. Had to laugh Kres. Reminds me of getting so frustrated with one game, I ejected the disc and tossed it and the box it came in out my window.
CA isn't the most helpful of Forums, Rorick but at leat they and Steam are working together on fixing the problem (I've been beta testing the new patch and so far things look good and stable- so fingers crossed).
Novapaddy, you get my sympathy vote. JPerry - next comp might be a new PC rig. I know there are plenty of comps going on always for new rigs (tho they are ysually for Alienware - bleh!).

If i won i'd prefer just a key also. It's faster, doesn't cost anything to send, doesn't get lost and you don't have to go to the post to send it.
Unless it was a limited edition of some sort with great in-box bonuses.

That is of course if SI has the boxes or they just give the details to someone else that is actually providing the games.

I honestly haven't started the campaign yet, been reading A Song of Ice and Fire :3
I have tried multiplayer, and I got the Spreading like Wildfire achievment(the one where you beat a CA employee or someone who has the achievment) from a guy who dc'd :|

The spreading like wildfire achievement is aptly named! I managed it within 3 days of release.

Campaign, I like several clans. Shimazu are great, but have a very easy starting position. My favourite is Chosokabe. Fairly easy to get Shikoku under control, but the following invasion onto Honshu or Kyushu is usually a bit tricky.

Be sure to check out the twcenter site for mods. Many small tweaks and large overhauls that are just simply fantastic. At least get on that changes the faction colours, the vanilla are just plain ugly.

And before you ask, any mod that changes stas etc. can't be used in multiplayer, but you can very easily disable them.

I played almost all of them except the ninja clan and the Tokugawa so far. And of course the 'premium' clans.

Don't like the idea for giving them extra money for something that was already included in the game on day one and is simply locked. Ikko Ikki would be fun to play, they have a fantastic starting position when it comes to special resources. And not to mention the warrior monks are incredibly iconic. Don't care about the super ninja clan that much, but i dislike the fact Ikko Ikki are 'premium'.

i haven't spent even a second in multiplayer yet.

I haven't played the MP either :D The Singleplayer is epic, I'm now playing 2 campaigns at once: 1 with the Date and 1 with the Shimazu.
