Heroes of Might & Magic V: Patches 1.1,1.2, 1.3,1.4,1.41
posted on 03/13/2007 10:54

If you've been having trouble with HoMM V like I have, especially with multiplayer, or if you just got the game, be sure to download and install patches 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.41 Each patch is available at
http://www.ubi.com/US/Downloads/Info.aspx?dlId=1628 but be sure to instal them in the order of 1.1 to 1.41. Each patch fixes many important bugs that appeared in version 1.0 as well as adding an "easy mode" to the game's difficulty setting (finally!) and a whole lot of new single and multiplayer maps.
Enjoy the game!

Rockstar vs. Jack Thompson! Fight!
posted on 03/11/2007 16:30

"John Bruce “Jack” Thompson (born July 25, 1951) is an American attorney and activist, based in Coral Gables, Florida. Thompson describes himself as a Christian conservative and a Republican.
After an initial foray into politics, Thompson concentrated his activism efforts against obscenity. More recently, he has focused on violence as well, particularly in the content of computer and video games and their alleged effects on children. Thompson is also frequently involved in medical malpractice lawsuits in his capacity as an attorney." - Wikipedia

This guy is hilarious, watching him makes me laugh XD. What is really funny though, is that he thinks he has a right to tell Rockstar(ingenious creators of the GTA series) that they can't put their newset title "Bully" on the shelves. This prick thinks he can make a whole big scene on how "Bully" is gonna be so bad because GTA was bad. But its not, the game actually landed a "T" by ESRB. From a number of podcasts that I've heard, Rockstar is going to play Bully in front of a judge and Thompson, not only are they going to disprove Thompson but they're also gonna get free advertising for their game!

Read the comic in my image gallery entitled "An Open Letter to Jack Thompson" for even more laughs!
Rock on! :D

Macs: They’re like a goddamn acid trap.
posted on 03/10/2007 12:33

I hate Macs. Macs are gay. Macs are everything evil shoved into a “computer”. First of all, Macs are built for retards that don’t know how to fix their own computers. Although it is rather convenient that Macs don’t crash and you apparently can’t get spyware on them, why spend the time and money going to an “Apple store” to get it repaired (if it gets busted) when you can buy a computer that has Windows XP or the newly released Vista and fix it yourself. Another thing that I accuse Macs of is looking “cool” to attract the dumb. Macs have the dumbest looking toolbars that I have ever seen in my entire life. Maybe the Windows toolbar looks dull but sure is easier to navigate around it. Finally, Macs can’t run all the software and programs (not to mention games) that a computer that runs Windows can. After all, between 80% - 90% of all software/programs are built to run on Windows. The only one quality that makes a Mac seem good is that you can run Windows on it, which I guess is an attempt at seeming less queer and finally submitting to the all mighty power that will forever be Windows.
Even though I hate Bill Gates for being a hypocrite, I hope that he buys out Apple.

Cheers! :P

Text-Based games...are they making a comeback?
posted on 03/09/2007 19:32

"Try it, you'll get really hooked" said Matt. "Ok...", I said, not to enthused about a text-based game, but when I first logged into to CyberNations (www.cybernations.net) I was totally blown away. I never thought that a text-based game could have so much depth. From that point on I never looked at text-based game in the sane way. So are text-based games really hopeless? Is anyone interested in a text-based game anymore? I am. CyberNations alone has 40,000 players alone. Not alot by today's standards, but for a no-name text-based game, this is quite impressive.

I don't think text-based games are forgotten and I hope that they never will be. Too bad it ain't the 1970s though eh?
