With the massive release of "GTAIV" a much-loved title amongst many may just arrive unheralded: "Alone In The Dark". Having had a good run at the game as I've seen it, it's, well, great. But will it unfortunately slip by due to its' release date coinciding with GTAIV?
In AITD, you have the entirety of Grand Central Park in New York to play in...free to roam anywhere. Your inventory is listed on the lining of jacket for easy access (a great new feature)and this gives rise to multiple paths of achieving objectives. The setting now is present day, whereas the original was the 1920's and it is going to be an Action/RPG par excellence (on all platforms). Looks great, plays great...but did they look at Rockstar's release timetable? This just may be a great game that passes many by...please don't let it.

Sum it up... I was jsut giving a ,low-down of the gameplay. What could have/might-yet-be a great release has been dwarfed by GTAIV. For many PC gamers the AITD series has been great since the '90's and it would be sad to see the best they have to give slip by without a gamers's interest giving pause to what might jsut be different to everything else (ala GTAIV). That's all.

Well, I just got the new GTA, and it is awesome! Seriously, this game is that good! But even with a game as huge as GTA IV out, I agree with herodotus, Alone In The Dark is still worth keeping an eye on. I just hope the gameplay won't be too repetitive. Judging from what I've seen from the trailers, it kinda looked that way. But then again, I never played an Alone in The Dark game before. So heres hoping it won't suck!
