New changes program Facebook to overshare

I've been concerne about this for a while, and folk are trying to leave FB by the droves at the moment. Harder than the average thinks, though.
One thing not mentioned here, is that any photographs you upload FB has the right to use anytime, anywhere.
What are your thoughts?

"Facebook users have been warned about the social network’s potential to reveal embarrassing connections to porn websites once a new timeline feature goes live in the coming weeks.

The timeline feature being rolled out means users will have an on-going record of their activities published on their page. This also means friends could see the sites you would rather not have them know you visited.

If people have clicked the "like" button on porn websites, or ever used their Facebook details to sign into porn sites, then all of that will be recorded on your timeline, technology blog Techwag reports.

Techwag blogger Rmorrill said the multi-billion dollar adult industry is going to get more involved with social media and said he was surprised to see a couple of porn sites knew who he was when he logged onto Facebook Connect.

Mashable.com has already written about the embarrassing dangers of the new feature, warning people that there could be serious privacy concerns if users are letting apps put information at the click of a button on their pages.

It said giving apps unrestricted access to your page means that it could be tracking and automatically sharing every move you make without you even knowing about it.

Mashable's Peter Cashmore said: "It could be the news articles you read online, the videos you watch, the photos you view, the music you listen to, or any other action within the site or App. Facebook calls this auto-sharing 'Gestures'."

Which is why I will never upload a picture of myself on FB, never trusted it.
Same goes for 'liking sites', you never know where that info will end up.
The only thing I have linked with my FB profile is Youtube, PSN and a gaming site or two. Well, as far as I know anyways.
Don't know if I ever 'liked' any porn sites though. Guess I'll find out sooner or later! :)

When I saw "The Social Network" my first impulse as to scarp my account (only really have it to keep in touch with friends far away...and my son, who never bloody rings me:D)

Lol Yeah, pretty much the same here. My main reason for joining the darn site was to keep in touch with a cousin who never uses it.
So now I just use it mainly to annoy whoever is dumb enough to add me as a friend. :)

I have an account but i only check it out maybe once a month. No picture and no embarassing details :).
Luckily it never occurred to me to use facebook to login to other sites either.
From now on i'll also always delete cookies after using facebook.

They are going totally overboard with this stuff.
