4 thumbs up

Give thumb up

We're bringing some new features! Give some feedback please, critic or whatever...

Member Public pages update:
http://www.strategyinformer.com/tests/UserPage_mygames.jpg
So basically we're changing the looks a bit, adding Member Reviews, Files, Guestbook posts (?) and Comments list (with latest replies).

Last Downloads Page update:
http://www.strategyinformer.com/tests/lastDLSpages1.jpg
We're bringing in file scores, changing the mirrors setup/looks (system will auto select lower loaded mirror by default for user), full file description will be opened within the same page (AJAX) and not lead to a new page, and files will get Author OR Uploader info (they wont show up both at the same time) with them.

And the points change! That will have a big impact as we will flush ALL current points, and all members will reestablish their points by what they did so far:

Will do my best to adjust per your feedback. So would be great to hear if anything needs changing / removing?

Thanks!

I like the addition of reviews to the member's public page...our reviews tend to get lost in the system once they've been submitted, and some folk aren't aware how to access them.

The Download page looks sharp, and scoring system is a good idea. I still think the old Usage metre is a better look and a more easily identifiable tool for the busy downloader. But overall, excellent.

What you've decided to do with the Scoring...thumbs up. As a few of us have said, points really don't mean that much to us, but when you have laboured over several pieces for your Camps, the News section, Reviews etc, it's startling to see non-contributors curb-stomping everyone to get to the lead. As I said, this is especially true when you have a competition going, and it's the page-turners and not the contributors that get the rewards. Lot of guys contributing stuff to SI again, which is great to see, and even better to see them rewarded by appearing in the hallowed Hall of Fame.

Best part Kres, is that you're streamlining a lot of the site and makeing even more user-friendly, with visible feedback. The site keeps getting more professional with each change.

Just one more addition, or revision actually. The "Invite To HQ" used to invite members to your camp, then it was to the SI Home Page, and now it's "Error 404". Could we have it changed to Invitation to Camp (looks weird in writing), or something along those lines?

Yup I'm up for everything you(Kres) and you Hero have said.

Great stuff,Glad to see things starting to work better.

the point thing is good I think,it helps a lot to see who does nothing, and give the site a bit more diff feeling, unlike most sire where you can post 1,674,768,586,000,598 posts and you say one dumb think and everyone thinks your a noob, and want you kicked off.

But the point's don't really matter,I don't really care,I just like it here.

I got to go! Dang Hate that!

Thanks guys and yes, Herod, I'll put camp invitations into this wave of changes. Will take a few weeks before we get this all done though. Can't wait!

No Kres, the button looks classy actually. Always good to refresh the looks and adjust how the site is managed by members. Lot of work, but we'll surely reap the benefits. Thanks. As for you, Hellknight...bloody pessimist to the end...heheheh.

And Herod, we get almost an email every day from people asking HOW TO DOWNLOAD. So they come to our last downloads page and get lost. So with this new system it should help since there is now a DOWNLOAD IT wide button. Problem is that downloading files will take 1 more click to do... Which is never a good thing.

I would add that when you are inviting somebody to your camp you first push the button comes up screen where you choose the camp you want him to join and then the invitation will be sent.
