How about? a "new member" flag type thing,that allows the old Vets to send you (Kres) a warning are Spammer thing,So if that member was just here to Spam and cause trouble,we could tell you,I guess we could already.

everything you say is great,But I don't know if I would trust anyone with the News,or any main stuff like that.

I think #1 Discount on GamersGate sales , is the best,That way they get a little something,witch is a benefit to theme,Without interfering with the site.

We already have Camps.

Speaking of camps,I think they are kinda messed up,Is the Camp ranking system working ok?

Also,What about Videos,How come we can't have video's in are camps anymore? was it a problem? I thought it would be a lot nicer to link the video's right ti here,so the members never have to leave SI in order to watch a Vid that i post on my camp.

5) Syndicate members have more access over camps and stuff...like they are "puppet admins", i.e. more power than the normal members. I got no idea what these powers ought to be though. And the syndicate level shouldn't be the end of it either. Too many will reach it too fast..

No people wont be able to reach it quickly. No way. Currently we would have "only" about 4-5 Syndicate members. And I believe you know whom they are :)

-I think that from certain amount of points you can start participateing in competitions.

-Members should have like different colored comments background (New User-Purple, SI Junior-Orange, SI Veteran-Yellow, SI Elite-Green, Si Syndicate-Red) to quickly understand the status of members.

-New Member: can comment, can join camps.
SI Junior: can write articles into camps.
SI Senior: can upload screenshots and mods, can create camps.
SI Veteran: can write news what will be after acepted of declined by the News section manager.
SI Elite: Can get discount on GamersGate sales, can post into Staff Editorials.
SI Syndicate: Can get even higher discount on GamersGate sales, can be taken as moderators or admins or managers, can do competitions (if they have enough experience and money).

And I also wanted to ask do you reset everyones point score? (It would be fair)

Following on from Hunter, I was thinking along the lines of moderation too. Particularly on the Member's page where we get a lot of post where guys have "cut & pasted" game info (spec, other site reviews etc) that can fill a whole page. I don't seee that as appropriate, and is annoying.
I think we can trust Syndicate Members to moderate that sort of thing, never as a punitive thing nor from spite. So a Syndicate Moderate might link to another Syndicate Member and click "Moderate?". If both agree, the item may be deleted with no action taken against the OP. If guys wish to post news, brief run-downs of games, then they must quote and source it.
The rest of the 4 mentioned are a grand idea. I especially like the idea of adding to Editorials and the News section.
As for colour, as long as it's not pink...cool (or Mountain Dew green, sorry Zerk old buddy).

@Hamarik: We shouldn't limit new members. Goal is to gust reward our top members. So everybody will be allowed to do all the "normal" things that you've mentioned. Also, I don't think it would be good to throw in multiple extra bg colors as that could confuse people. So just 1 color for Syndicate level.

@Herod: We need to update the main members page too. Those blogs there could just be limited to xxx chars, and then get cut with "read full" sort of link. So that would sort the problem you mentioned?

We could try to get a 5% discount for Elite, and 10% for Syndicate on Gamersgate. That would be cool. GG people would still get their cut from it, and promo from SI. So doable most likely.

Allowing Syndicate to post news and editorials on the front page would be great. However problem is that some of our top members aren't native Englishmen, hence their posts wouldn't be appropriate for the front page... :\ hmm

Kres but then SI Syndicates must get before starting to write articles to staff editorial permission from you or from the one who manages this section. The on who want then has to for example write couple articles to the forum. If you do so then you should considers creating topic named "Showcase" where those who want to get permission put their aricles.

I suppose you are right on the limitations. But doesn`t it piss you that when article (like the Cityes XL beta release) is posted then many many make themselves users only to get something and then never log in. Huh! :/

Its not a problem that some top members are not native English...we could get someone to edit those articles alone..

And what about having different types of Syndicates...Like we could "clanize" the entire thing and the clans can compete with each other for points and also in the games they play and we could send SI teams for tournaments and stuff(If possible, members selected from the CLANS).

I Know I'm posting late but it took me a while to get here. First of all I like the ideas flowen around here, I do however think the point system should be quite higher to attain each level. Especialy if your going to use the same counter (point collector) as you got now. It's alittle easy to get point's, all's some noob has to do is spend an hour a day going back and forth in the menu tabs option to rack up point's.

Anyway's as I was rambling on. Having the ability to write editorials, reviews, would be fantastic. Having each rank in a color skeem would be nice to see. What about the ablity to see who's online at the bottom of the page? Guests/registered user's/moderators/admin's. Sorry I keep going off the topic. "The ideas won't stop coming."

[Zerk] As for spammer's just remove them from the reg and block there IP. You also bring up a great point about posting on the main site. I don't believe it should be giving simply because you have the nessesary points, but it should be awarded to the people that are trustworthly and have good standing within the site. Not to mention the said person posting should be somewhat familiar with the use of proper sentence structure and writing/essay styles. Last thing I want to read on the main page is a 10yr kid talking about how he was farming for gold in WOW for 8 hours just to get enough money to buy a uber weapon, all the while his mum was nagging him about always being on the computer. Stating parents just don't understand!

[Hama] I like your ideas as well, the site admins would have to police the site closely but it could be done. But as far as losing all the acured point's maybe just adjust them to the new ranking system. If some peeps drop a level or two; wouldn't hurt much. What do you think about having a shout box on the main page, that's only open to users? While on that subject sort've, you can make a spot for exclusive members, that isn't seen/accessible by the guest, and our regular user. Call it the "Campaign Room" This could be where all the Syndicate's post and what not. Have it to were you can up load music and listen to it, or porn our what ever, something lavish like? Maybe even teamspeak or GameCon so you can meet once a week and dissus the issuses.

Eh yea...the shout box seems almost useless on the games pages...we could move it to the main page..
