Hey guys,
Wanted to check with you about a feature that we wanted to bring to SI. Basically anybody involved in comments posting on SI knows of some of the issues that we're having with them. One of the problem is that we/I often lost track of what we posted and where we posted it.
So this is what we wrapped up in an attempt to solve this problem. Please check these samples:

So see that User Box in the left top has changed slightly. It got a "NEW CONTENT REPLIES" bit to it. So the idea is to have that work as a clickable link that invokes a small popup that then shows the latest 5 (thought to put that as a max to not get it too tall) content replies to any content pages where you posted any comments. With time when the latest reply was posted. And a "VIEW ALL POSTS" link that will bring us to the page where all unread and read posts will be shown. Next sample...

So here you can see all your unread posts listed. And below them, ALL your posts.
So, what do you think? Do you find that usable, practical, good, bad...? Any comment appreciated! I thought it would be better then going with standard email notifications... A bit more modern? < sarcasm ... :)
Thank you!

No flaws I think...

Kres, I know you mentioned appointing Moderators for the Member's Page a while back, but after a series of quite appalling 'posts' here I think it's about time we had them (I've requested it twice here now). Sometimes the posting here just gets beyond the ridiculous, with whole pages filled with gibberish (just scroll down and look at some of it).
Otherewise, excellent.

Yes I recall that moderation was mentioned, but those posts on the members pages are blogs, and having a moderator to moderate peoples personal blogs is a bit of touchy nature. Not certain that we should be doing it.

As for moderation, well I won't mention it again. But yo're right, it is rather messy.

I like the first one with the pop-up but may I suggest perhaps with mouse-over activation rather than clicking.
I regards to Heros comment on the obvious misuse of blogs, might I suggest you alter the ToA to state that those who deliberately post useless blogs like the one referred to in this case will lose 1000 points every time one is posted. That should slow it down a bit.

As for popup on Hover vs Click on/over "content replies" link, I vote for Click since otherwise whenever you accidentally move a mouse over it, it will cast a popup, so might annoy people. No? We could vote?
Hellknight, that's a good idea. We're bringing in a few new features with current wave of updates (new release dates page as the current one is ancient, new press reviews page, reviews list page upgrade...). So I'm going to make build the next wave of updates with that popup, and see what I can do with members pages, blogs, and that notification for friends.
If there are any other suggestions do let me know. The best sounding ones will be added to the tasks flow.
Thanks again people for your help!

Perhaps we should add + and - to each post. Those that get like 5 or more negative points get removed from the main blogs list. I've seen that in action on other sites, so could work here too.
With that it would be great to do that editor upgrade for blogs, so people could add images and stuff. Get blog posts more live.
