Help with SAMI.
I know san andreas is an old game but I'm getting bored of GTA IV. So I bought GTA SA for the PC and since I thought it would be fun to try to mod it out. You know? Well I was told to try SAMI. Well I downloaded sami then some mods. But, the thing is it won't let me. It says I need to get them in script files or something. Can someone please help me?

As a silly as a bum full of Tic-Tacs weekend blogs go, and linking with my previous post about the guy with the nut stuck on his "member" (as this is the Members Page), I thought I'd expand on MY experiences as a Nurse. I advocate general health, and as the old saying we nurses had goes: "If you don't eat, you don't s**t, and if you don't s**t you die". Serious health implications here, especially considering the news of gamers dying from long periods on MMO's. Truth is, they forgot to go to the loo. So to my philosophy.
We all enjoy a good motion...c'mon admit. In Ancient Greece, Priests would even look at it (as we all do) to divine the future. Well from some of what I've seen, the future looks pretty bleak. Anyway, guys can have a seat on the porcelain driving wheel and, after the first 10 seconds of shock (and it is shock), we can read a magazine or newspaper from cover-to-cover without noticing the smell. The next guy in however will think he's been hit by a Poo bat, and a woman will be cut in half, but the point is the business is done. You're much healthier and a few kilos lighter. But still we get embarassed about it. Even animals do. Look at dogs; even they hunker down like they're rootin' a cricket ball.
So, in summary, when gaming for long periods it's likely we may forget to attend to certain serious bodily needs. My advice is to have a clock by your PC, Console whatever and take a break every twenty minutes if only to stretch your legs. You may notice your body telling you its' hungry, tired, thirsty or that you need to mount the thunderbox and purge like it's going out of fashion and you're a new trend-setter. It's not just your rig you need to keep in good running order you know. It all comes under the auspices of good gaming. So play hard, but look after yourself while you do.

Some guys (and maybe gals) are wondering what the system specs for Starcraft II are, and even though it is not due for release until mid-09, it might give gamers time to do some necessary upgrades. So here they are:

Firstly, your soul, and half your daily living requirements...including any relationships you might have - with anyone. Ohhhh, the PC requirements...sorry.

Minumum Requirements
GFX: GeForce 7/8 Series or Radeon 1000/2000 with 256 MB RAM
CPU: Pentium 4 (that's the Pentium D)
RAM: 1 GB
Internet: ADSL 1 Mbit

Recommended Requirements
GFX: GeForce 8000 or Radeon 2000 series with 512 MB RAM
CPU: Core 2 Duo or Athlon X2.
RAM: 2 GB
Internet: ADSL 3 Mbit

Blizzard are also doing doing a deal with AMD, the details of which are yet to become clear for the Intel and Nvidia gamer. I know this not good news for a lot gamers out there, but as I said you have plenty of time to consider an upgrade or three.

In the Training Section I want to Take Off from Amendola (the home base) and fly to other air bases using the Channel Codes ie..039x, 111x, 49x and so on. I've tried to enter these #'s, then switch to TR, then switch to Back Up. I go to the Tacan Receiver and nothing shows up except the pre-set Amendola Steerpoints. Please explain step by step how to enter the Channel Codes in the Tacan Receiver in order to fly to other airports. The pdf. manual in the software only explains how to use the Tacan Receiver for making an ILS approach. It dosen't explain how to navigate by just flying to other bases.

To help celebrate the thirteenth anniversary of Command & Conquer: Red Alert, Electronic Arts has announced that Westwood Studio's classic real-time strategy title will be available as a free download.
The game will be available on the house via the Red Alert 3 website from August 31 (12:00 AM Pacific Time), though EA has not indicated how long the download will be available for.

In other gaming news, lead designer at Epic Games, Cliff Bleszinski has stated that there will definitely NOT be a PC port of "Gears of War 2". Wonder if the hate mail he gets might change his mind. Somehow I don't think so. Bungie did this with Halo 3 and it wasn't a big loss for PC gamers. This one, however just might hit a bit below the belt. Bad Epic, bad!

does any of these settings like the resolution of BFME 2,Zerk and some other members said changing the resolution will solve the 3 minute screen of death,did that solve the game,because in Zerk's opinion it was written that the reseolution must be changed to 1280 720,but my computer didn't have that resolution,it's max resolution was 1024 768,so if there's any solve for it,thank you

earlier Hero was telling me about OC'ing how its not worth it,so it Gave me the itch i needed to Scratch,So Today I did some tests on OC'ing,In a Since you would think that Speeding up your Hardware will in turn do the same for You,simple enough to do so but is it really worth it? well lets find out,here are some Tests I did over the week,Crysis will be our main Benchmark since its such i good one,So here is what i got,First ill tell you my Default Factory shipped Speeds,GPU 9800GTX KO=Core=738MHz/Memory=2250MHz,CPU=E8400=3.0GHz,4GB=DDR3=1333MHz,ok so here are the BM's,First no OC'ing Stock,GPU test= Min=29 Avg=56 Max=79,Temp after Done=50C ,Now ill OC it to Core=770/Memory=2400,Min=28 Avg=58 Max=81,Temp after Done=58C ,so already we see not much,ok on to the CPU test,First Stock=3.0GHz Min=27 Avg=50 Max=61,Temp after Done=42C now the OC'ed to 3.6GHz Min=27 Avg=50 Max=64,Temp after Done=46C ,so it seems your not Gaining anything,if so its so little that your Burning up your Hardware for nothing,But I'm not Done, Today i thought well lets Push it a Bit more and give it one last try! so Here's what i got,GPU OC'ed to Core=792mhz/Memory=2568MHz and my CPU OC'ed to 3.85GHz,and this is what i got,Stock was,Min=29 Avg=52 Max=64,same test OC'ed,Min=28 Avg=53 Max=67,so you tell me OC'ings worth it! its not! i looked it up and found the same thing that i have here that others have Proved,So thanks for Reading my OC'ed Waist of time! and thanks To Hero who told me for a Fact that its Just Plain not worth it to Overclock!

In my previous post I failed to mention the next full game based on the "F.E.A.R." franchise. "F.E.A.R.", the sequel, is called "Project Origin", for those who still aren't aware. Monolith couldn't call it "F.E.A.R. 2" as Sierra, the original publishers, own the rights to that title. The other two titles that were proposed for the follow-up were "Dead Echo" and "Dark Signal". This was part of a competition run by Monolith for gamers to enter a title for their new game and these three titles were the final contenders. As we all see, "Project Origin" won out over the other two.
I did not include it in my must-have or query-have lists as "F.E.A.R." is such a one-off, meshing elements of horror, the supernatural with conspiracy and military action. The two expansions are questionable for their necessity, with the last, "Perseus Mandate" really only for die-hards.
Yes "Project Origin" will have vehicle combat in SP and MP, and the graphics engine has been "buffed-up". However, the uniqueness of the first title cannot be repeated in my opinion. From what I've seen and read so far, I can't shake the feeling that there will be a "I've been here before" voice going off in my head while playing. It also depends on how console-affected the game will be. As it will be a cross-platform release, PC gamers might just draw the short straw, as is the case with many gamers concerned with "Far Cry 2".
This is definitely a "wait-and-see" title for me.

I am confused on the number of patches out for this flight sim, Allied Force. Will the sim function OK out of the box? If I'm only interested in the flying of the F-16, like: take off, flying around, navigation, landing at other bases, and of course...landing ... will I need all of the patches that are available? So with Leipzig and the WWI wrapped up, what are the games that have you in a sweat? Some will be hotly anticipated for release date, others might be able to wait. The Promos are hitting from all directions, so it looks like the final countdown for the end of the drought has begun.For me, my choices would be, and in no particular order:
- Tom Clancy's Endwar
- Starcraft II
- Diablo III
- Empire: Total War
- Call of Duty: World At War
- C&C: Red Alert 3
- Dawn of War II
- Sins of a Solar Empire expansion

Maybes would be:
- Far Cry 2 (blow things up in Africa...yeah baby)
- Crysis: Warhead (heaps more guns and a psychotic hero)
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky (if it's better than the Trailers)
- Fallout 3 (depending on how much it is censored)
- Warhammer Online (will it shake the MMORPG world as promised?)

And for all those who enjoy Supreme Commander, they're should be further news coming about Chris Taylor's latest offering "Demigod". Should be interesting to see how he can move on from the TA formula that has served so well, if he does at all.

"The listed release date of March 1, 2009 suggests that the game - which is titled Tales of Valor is an expansion rather than a full blown sequel to the series, as Relic is currently hard at work putting together the next title in their popular sci-fi RTS series Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2, which is due to arrive in early 2009.

Great news for those still playing CoH (my hand's up). I've read the rumours on several sites now, though I wonder what third party developer could give justice to the franchise. Ironlore made a right hash of the last Dawn of War outing before they folded, so if it is true I certainly hope it's someone who will stay around to support the product...and they bring something new to the party. In addition, Starcraft II might just have surfaced by then and all of us RTS guys will be a tad busy zerging Protoss.

ok idk wtf is going on but i put on some data modifiers in the movies... the ground.ini, the mood.ini, and the experience.ini- i made the first two files myself, the other downloaded. anyway, i put ppl into casting for movies and their stress bar suddenly goes all red, completely gone... there's nothing in it, way below the threshold. working and waiting on a movie stress is only at.0001, which shouldn't cause this to happen. Also, how do you do the social .ini? can't get that to work at all. ANY HELP AT ALL WITH THIS GREATLY APPRICIATED TY.

Not saying PC Users/ Gamers are dumb, but some of the things we do or neglect to do are pretty well...dumb. So for the weekend I thought I'd just give a quick list. I have to admit to falling trap to one or several of these over time...still. So here they are, in no particular order:

1/ Plug into the wall without surge protection
2/ Surf the Internet without a firewall
3/ Neglect to run or update antivirus and anti-spyware programs
4/ Install and uninstall lots of programs, especially betas
5/ Keep disks full and fragmented
6/ Open all attachments
7/ Click on everything
8/ Share and share alike (folder sharing in particular)
9/ Pick the wrong passwords
10/ Ignore the need for a backup and recovery plan

Most are self-explanatory, some perhaps not. I could expand on each comment but that would take volumes. Nervous newbies are often fearful that one wrong move might break the computer forever. Luckily, short of taking a sledge hammer to the box, the consequences aren’t usually quite that dire. Of course, we were all newbies once so please feel free to add to the list:)

On Massive's Website (the makers of "World in Conflict" and the "Ground Control" series) there is some disturbing news. With the merger of Activision and Blizzard there were bound to be acquisitions, sales and mergers but while the companies reap the financial rewards, we gamers are left wondering what will happen to the game we have payed good money for. It was recently announced that Activision had acquired Vivendi from Sierra, but now this from Leipzig:

"Speaking exclusively to VG247, Massive Entertainment’s senior execs have revealed that they’re already in talks for a potential sale of the World in Conflict developer, following now-confirmed news that Activision is to sell the outfit as a result of its merger with Blizzard.
"He added: “Being a part of a merger like this is a strange situation, because obviously the new organisation has to look over all of its assets, everything it owns and its strategy for the future. For the past six month’s we’ve been waiting for the merger to go through and to understand whether they see us as a part of their future or not."

So the purchase of Publishing companies by the bigger corporations is generally good news for gamers, but then when they sell-off development studios we are uncharted terrritory. I know its' been a fact of life forever, but it comes as a recent development for gamers. With the confusion that players of "Hellgate London" experienced recently as to their future, and the Servers for "Fury" closing down permanently I find it all a little unnerving.
What will be the future support for a game (like "DoW:Soulstorm": none)?
Are the Servers permanent?
Serious questions that really need to be answered.

Following on from Zerk's Post about Biological PC's, scientists from the University of Reading unveiled the world's first robot controlled by living brain tissue on Wednesday.
Gordon, as the robot has been named, is being used to explore the fundamental building blocks of memory and learning, according to one of the researchers.

"Observing how the nerve cells cohere into a network as they fire off electrical impulses, he said, may also help scientists combat neurodegenerative diseases that attack the brain such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

so i found and downloaded a couple mods for rise of the witch king but i dont no how to install them, one is the numenor mod and the other is a ini-big file replacement mod.

i am having trouble with my lord of the rings battle for middle earth 2 and the rise of the witch king expansion, it will only play for about 4 or 5 minutes then it crashes and i get the blue screen of death, it worked before but when i tried to reinstall it to play it again is when i started having problems with it, i want to get some mods for it too once it is running properly again.

please help.

I have just recently submitted a map named bunked_b1 for Counter-Strike: Source to the site, and already I am working on the next. I was appointed my Home Owners Assoications Head of the committee to Xeriscape the WHOLE complex, so you can well imagine what that did to my free time. Free time ah I remember it so well, I could relax, not so much now due to taking on responsibilities. Not that I volunteered mind you, but I did not turn down the voted decision. I could have, but this way at least I know where they are spending my HOA fees and I get and idea of what is happening to the complex.

This I have to assume is what they call real life... I think I would rather be playing WOW... is it November yet???


That is the update from this end of the universe real fun stuff right?

Rockstar has today confirmed what the gaming world has long suspected - Grand Theft Auto IV will indeed be coming to the good old PC, and it will be happening in November.
North America will be the first to receive the port on the 18th, with Europe following shortly after on the 21st. There's been no word of an Australian release date as of yet, but you can be sure it won't be too far behind.
We reviewed Grand Theft Auto IV on the PlayStation 3 when the game was released a few months back, and we thought it was rather good, to say the least.
The game has since gone on to sell lots and lots and lots of copies, and was removed from sale in Thailand earlier this week.

Latest whispers from Infinity Ward, those diabolical baddies from Activision who steal our hearts, souls, minds (and cash) are up to no good again. Which is good for us. Infinity Ward (IW) have announced that they will be solely responsible for developing any Call of Duty numbered titles (CoD2, CoD4 etc) and that the company behind CoD3 (Treyarch) will be just doing the "offcuts" so to speak. So Call of Duty: World at War will NOT be CoD5. IW is already hard at work in development of that title as we speak though as yet there is no word on a setting.
As this is the case, then Treyarch (formerly known as Grey Matter) who made the expansion to the original CoD, should have, in many gamers' opinions made an expansion to CoD4. MP is the enduring fun a gamer gets from the CoD franchise but over 80% of gamers list the SP experience as the first and most important aspect of any good war game (indeed of any genre). If the MP of CoD4 wasn't so good there would be more than a few grumbles about the length (?) of the SP Campaign (two campaigns basically interwoven into one).
What might be the thoughts of you guys and gals?
. Is Single Player important to you in enjoying a game
. Do you think Treyarch should have made an expansion to CoD4 instead of a re-visit to WWII (which the Medal of Honour franchise found to be its' Death Knell)?
