Damn, I can't locate him in admin at all. This is the first news on the topic for me. What happened? He just couldn't login at some point?

Does anybody have his IM contacts? We can see if site backups got him stored. Damn it! :(

The only way he could've got deleted was via admin... Hence somebody deleted him. Users can't delete their own accounts themselves. I'm going to find out who did that and why.

Emailed Zerk and in the meanwhile I found out what happened. Zerk has posted about 300 comments for whatever reason, and the system automatically deleted him. It seems he used some bot to do that...

Zerk if you're reading this, register a new account and please give an explanation to what you were trying to do?

300 comments with the word lame. We've got system in place to prevent spam and this was a strong case unfortnately. I've often seen on worded comments on news and reviews which might just be "lol" or "lame". This will flag the system too.

The amount of his comments in a single constant wave of them is what ticked the system... It's unfortunate but Zerg damn why were you doing that...

You guys will know that we've had bot problems lately. So we've put an advanced system in place to prevent that. It's not perfect but in this case and 99.99% of others it did what it was supposed to.

So, sorry Zerg but there are some rules and things that you should and shouldn't do. No body is excused from it.

And that includes all of us.

I also talked with Zerk yesterday, and he said he posted something only once, and then it automatically re-posted it like 60 times. Why would it do that? It's also happened to me once or twice, but I always deleted the 'extra' comments. Which I guess is why I'm still around.
But I think you guys need to seriously tweak that spam-removal-bot a little bit more. Because it took longer to delete an active spammer who was putting crap all the over the site than it did to delete Zerk. And that guys, is lame.

That happened to me as well, but 60/300 times? I managed to post 3-4 times in worst case scenario. Sorry man but that doesn't sound sincere. It doesn't get posted automatically at all but you need to keep clicking SUBMIT to do it. There is no automatization behind that. After you click it for like 10 times, why click it for another 50 times?

Would you prefer if we installed Captcha so we'd need to enter some code for each comment posting? That would suck, and this way is hence better. Zerk still did posted those comments as if it was a bot.

Yeah I guess your right. And I guess it's better than installing captcha.
Still sucks that Zerk's whole profile got erased though. :(

Yeah it's total crap :\ zerk oh zerk... But if he re-registers after (if) he calms down about the whole thing, I can get him old points back. That's of course if he promises not to post jiberish comments, and then do it 60 to 300 times at once.

It could have been his cat one time I whent to the CAN when I was posting some thing and my cat was on the keys at the time here is way I say that just now my cat close out of every thing just now well I was posting on this the 1st time not the 1st time my cat has been on my key pad she thinks she can post thing better then me :) the funny thing is it is problly true ;;)) Hey Revan Like the new look well new to me has been some time for me in posting on some thing ;)

Or some thing could have locked up when he hit send how meny time on the net has it crashed on us just at the right time well as we say the wrong time cpu locks up and keeps going over and over the same thing may not see it with the new 3,4and 6 core cpu now days if one core locks up the next one keeps going so you don't fell or see it ??? How meny of us see what I am saying or seen it do it .you know back when we ownly had one cpu ever thing would just lock up now with more cores when some thing stop working you can keep going and working so you can close out of that thing that stoped working and got the sent to probfix you may know it as windows has stoped working and had to close the program .How things have come a long in ten years ;)

Well I've been gone for over 7 months now, that's because I needed some time for intensive studying, but I'm back again now, And I would like firstly to welcome all of you -SI gang ;P-.... I just wanted to say come back ZERK cause you, Revan, Hellknight, Hero, Kres, mercy.. gave this site a really wonderful time!! I mean it's about time that I realized that not logging in to this site lately gave me the feeling of something missing -You all-.... so just come back.

Hello, it's been a long time.

I have been here for a long time and seen lost of good friends come and go .Yes life keeps going and time makes us have so little time to come all the time but I still come home to Si and still see the good friends come home too Si may not be as it was a time a go but event I still come on some times I don't sine in .But I am still here on Si too look at what is new who is new or old on Si not that much to talk on with me so I sit in be hind the on the site but still here looking at what people post still all good here on Si .Yes I should sine in when I come on so people know I was on sorry I did not .Some times I can bee a liitle to free in what I say so I just stayed in the back for a liitle bit .Yes I still come on just wanted all my friends on Si to know that will never stop the good friends I have made on Si all over the world .Wanted to say Good too see a lot of the Si family is still on and to the ones who may have moved on or can't get on still and all ways will be my good friends to the end :)
