The Best Of Gamers.

2 thumbs up

Give thumb up

You know the best thing about being a gamer is the thrill you get from doing something nobody ever did. The best thing is you can even get the thrill from beating minesweeper in 5 seconds (only seen it once, personal record is 7sec).
My point is that you can get that feeling from any game. That is (what I think) makes a great gamer.

Youre right you know...But I dont think you'd get all those feelings from some game like 25 to life...I mean when you really connect with the game then you'll actually be IN the game. But the best perhaps is beating the game. Personally I usually feel sorta let down when the game ends..It always feels really short when you finish the game..but its always satisfying.

That's great 'n all, but I have played some games that have either left me angry and let down, or just plain sick that I spent money on them. Some games are fun, some hard work, and some just plain unplayable until the modding community gets a hold of them ("Star Trek Legacy" for the PC a prime example).
Its' good to see gamers who enjoy anything they put their minds to, and I wish I could feel the same way. I'm afraid when I've been all hyped-up by previews, caught up in the pre-sale anticipation we all get in then buy the game only to learn its' a dog with no leash, then its' not fun. Try as I might to enjoy them, they end up on the shelf within hours. Some that are immediatly fun, lose their flavour quickly like candy. Others take a long time to draw you in, but then hold onto you forever. Some sit in the middle.
So, I guess, I'm not a great gamer, just a gamer.

I have to agree with Herodotus. Some games are outstanding, others are just playable, then you get the once that makes you think, why the hell did I waste my money on this cr#p. I'm a huge gamer, and also a collector, but in the end it would seem that I'm not a great gamer myself.
