According to a report from the LA Times, developer Infinity Ward spent between $40m and $50m on putting their blockbuster sequel together.
In fact that's believed to be less than they were given initially. Rockstar Games reportedly spent $100m on making Grand Theft Auto IV. | |

Gamers looking forward to Aliens vs. Predator from Rebellion may have been a little fearful last week, as dedicated servers weren't being confirmed.
Don't worry they have been now, its official "that this is the case." Studio boss Jason Kingsley said they always planned to have them. | |

Yes avid Darkfall players out there will be pleased to know that next week goes live with the 'Conquer the Seas' expansion, after some delay.
It's the MMO for player vs. player fanatics, will full looting and no safe zones. The add-on brings "many new" features to Darkfall, for free. | |

Another seven days pass and the universe gifts us another update to the PlayStation Store, although it's pretty bare aside from some DLC.
The exception to the slim pickings rule is Critter Crunch, maybe, because it's really colourful and disgusting at the same time. Awesome. | |

Some more details of Kane & Lynch 2 have escaped Square Enix, they own Eidos don't forget, and so we now know we play as Lynch.
It also appears to be set in Shanghai, the "perfect playground for expat criminals" to make huge money. It will support online co-op play. | |

Project Natal is going to be big for the Xbox 360 platform and so Microsoft wants fresh troops to fill the development studio trenches.

Professional guy with pen, Jesse Stern, reveals when writing began for Modern Warfare 2 there were some "outlandish things" thrown around.
Things like "outbreaks, viruses, chemical warfare" all got lost to their "stumbling" into real life events, which was "honestly unintentional." | |

Plan B Entertainment, that's Brad Pitt's production company, will be dealing with all that Hollywood silver-screen stuff for Dark Void.
This is Capcom's latest IP which is due out next year on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It's all sci-fi with aliens, jetpacks and the Bermuda triangle. | |

Corporate giant Sony are tired of losing money, so they plan on returning to profitability by the end of the next fiscal year - by going PS3 3D.
That and "introducing a subscription model" to online services, possibly, like the PlayStation Network. Firmware update will allow 3D games. | |

According to code rummaging enthusiasts, Infinity Ward has three 'hidden' multiplayer modes and one involves a nuclear missile silo.
The second is a capture the flag match and the third is VIP, where you protect or kill the important person. Planned as DLC unlocks? | |

CD Projekt has had another leaked clip of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and thanks to translation, we know they don't have a publisher!
The developer hopes to get it by sorted by Q1, 2010. It's being developed on their "internal, multi-platform" engine, which they want as "vanguard". | |

Developer Cryptic has released information on the latest update to hit the superhero MMO, which has gotten new content from Blood Moon.
This new patch focuses more on the player Nemesis, adding a whole new lair to beat and new costumes and perks to earn. It's live next week. | |

Remi Racine of Artificial Mind & Movement has said how many developers try and trick the ESRB into giving their games much lower ratings.
Lower age bands means more sales. The ESRB meanwhile says they take the ratings process "extremely seriously", they're not so naive. | |

Developer Valve has gone live with a site that features an in-game band from Left 4 Dead 2, which could be a tease for some DLC planned.
It's got "Coming Soon" slapped on it, so hopefully news of more content for the sequel is already prepped. It's out this Friday in the UK. | |
