Brink demo release on PS3?

It seems Bethesda and Splash Damage have quietly been sending out Brink beta invites to PlayStation 3 owners.

Some users at NeoGAF are stating they received invites and are downloading 2.2GB files.

Have you received a beta build? Let us know - meanwhile, I'll be contacting Splash Damage and getting a confirmation.

UPDATE: Splash Damage emailed their official reply: This is a private beta under strict NDA and will not be made available to the public or press. The private beta is for technical testing purposes only and not for gameplay evaluation. Should anything change, we will let you know.

In other words, those who received the beta code should not have even said they received one. This is a private beta test.

Uh oh, better keep checking my mail.. That is, if the demo inst US invite only. I once got GoW IiI demo keycode, wonder if I'll be this lucky now..

Once you get that confirmation would you kindly let us know if it's worldwide invitation?

The reason that the closed beta is on PS3 is probably because people could see you playing Brink on Xbox Live. They wanted this to be a secret.

No, they could see the icon and game info on your Xbox Live profile, or see you're actively playing, etc.

Devel .... i dont think thats a bigger problem than on the 360 .... i bet its easier to code in the Stealth Icon Mechanic on PS3 than on 360 ...

I think that they chose the PS3 because of the low hack rate of games, the Xbox has a history of games being hacked even those in closed-beta.

There could be any number of reasons - the 'technical testing purposes' part of the official reply could indicate that they simply want to do some extra QA on the PS3 platform.

Bias or "PS3 is better for this" etc.. may not even factor into it.

@RaviL - Ps3 is now hackable in an easier way than Xbox, you just have to plug an USB stick ahahah Games are easily dumped from the hard rive. Problem is rights to run PSN Id locked content..

@abahnur - Why so fanboy? ahaha it's just consoles, although I admit Sony makes some BIG BIG mistakes..

@abahnur999: It's coming out on 360. The game is awesome, I played it at E3. I have a 360 and PC, and I'll probably be picking it up for PC. Who cares what platform there's a demo going on at?
