Custom PS3 firmware 'bricks' older consoles, users blindly adopt

People are discovering the custom made firmware for PS3 (v3.55) is in fact rendering launch PS3 consoles useless, as they fail to heed warnings.

A sheer lack of research - or an abundance of idiocy - is causing major brickage! You won't be 'backing up' your games anytime soon hacker videogamer.

Those who have failed to read the forum threads where these custom firmwares are posted may well end up with a fancy black brick in their room. It appears the early PS3 consoles are primarily the ones permanently locking up.

It's time for would-be pirates to have some egg on their face, not Sony.

It's not exactly true, I think a dev made 3.55 CFW with a few things that shouldn't even be there, and since it wasn't even properly tested, they bricked. Anyhow, you can already Unbrick them..
