Interplay could develop Fallout 6, if Bethesda refuses to allow Fallout MMO release

Interplay says that it could end up developing Fallout 6 if Bethesda prevents it from releasing Fallout Online, as the sale of the IP will be terminated if it isn't allowed to continue with development.

If this is the outcome from the ongoing legal battles, Bethesda will only be allowed to develop one more Fallout says Interplay.

"We sold the Fallout IP to Bethesda in exchange for a certain amount of cash and the right to do the Fallout MMO," said Eric Caen, Interplay's president. "If they refuse to let us do the game, then the sale of the IP is terminated, and they will be allowed to do only one more Fallout, 5.

"But in that case, the IP will come back to us, and of course, we will complete our work and release Fallout MMO." he continued.

Caen notes that the team would love to do a fallout 6 and sequels, but urges people to wait and see what happens in court. Would you like to see Interplay return to the series, or would you rather Bethesda continue with future sequels?

Interplay is creator of the series, and no one knows better than them to make a Fallout game. I say A WAY TO GO Interplay, I want some more "for gamers from gamers" :)

3 hurrahs for Interplay!
Well if this is true, Bethesda can either admit it and let them make the MMO. Or drag it out even more and risk mosing the liscence altogether!. awesome.

While I would be intrigued to see what happens if Interplay were able to give the fallout series another whirl, I also worry that legal wrangling will prevent another fallout from being released for another 10 years.

The old Interplay is dead and gone, guys; FONV has more people from FO1&2 working on it than a new Interplay game would.

Black Isle's dead and gone, and I see no reason to trust Interplay with the series when Bethesdian is doing a great job.
