Ninja Gaiden 3 "more accessible"

Team Ninja has explained they're making Ninja Gaiden 3, "not easy," but a lot more "accessible" to players. It not just for "really good, skilled people."

They're focused on making it the "number one 3D action game" and its protagonist Ryu Hayabusa. Team Ninja want to be "providing excitement" non-stop.

"Team Ninja's aim with Ninja Gaiden 3 is twofold: to be the number one 3D action game of the time, and secondly, the main character is Ryu Hayabusa. They're the two things we're focusing on," revealed Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi.

"Then, providing excitement, which is not only from the difficulty. That's just one of the elements. It's more like having excitement from fighting an exciting boss. That is what we needed." Tomonobu Itagaki no longer works on Ninja Gaiden as he quit.

"With the previous Ninja Gaidens, you were playing and you were excited, but it was more about putting the controller into the TV screen or something," Hayashi said.

"That kind of excitement we were focusing on and aiming for. So that's why for you maybe it was too difficult at that time." Ninja Gaiden 3 is seen as something of a reboot for the IP and for Team Ninja to prove their worth in the series without its creator.

"That's one of the elements. We're not focusing on it, but focusing on providing excitement." Ultimately they want more people to feel they can pick up the game and enjoy without needing to dedicate endless hours to get good at its style of play.

Does that mean Ninja Gaiden 3 is easier? "Not easy," he stated, "but it will enable more people to play. More accessible. We don't plan to have Ninja Gaiden 3 only for the really good, skilled people." Ninja Gaiden 3 is releasing on Xbox 360 with no date yet.

There goes another great game down the drain.
Nowadays there are almost no games out there that are truly challenging, like a month worth of deaths while trying to beat the game, not a month worth of grinding or farming or whatnot so you have everything.
The last hard/challenging game I played was Vanquish and it wasn't the game that was hard it was the challenge mode (which should be hard).

I have to state that from the other side, keep the challenge - but also making things more accesible has their points. People will actually play the games. As someone with a very limited attention span and having a bit more in life to take care of then gaming, making games more accesible by making it an option to choose Easy instead of just releasing it as 'spine cracking difficult' makes sense.
With all the stupid trophies and whatnots in games now if you want bragging rights for beating a difficult game - they have the option to satisfy everyone...

I knew this would happen when the creator left, it was the same ting with FF.
I just have to say NG is supposed to be hard, specially because of the camera ^^

Right the freaking camera killed me more than the game "Oh a corner" 5 seconds later "Oh I'm dead". But makes sense Easy for the noobes, Crushing, Hellish, God Mode, Hardcore, Legend or whatever the the most difficult mode is called for the Strong of heart only!
