Dead Space 2: Severed announced

Visceral Games has announced the first expansion pack for Dead Space 2, Severed, which will add two new chapters to the game.

According to Visceral, players will take on the role of Gabe Weller, a Sprawl Security Guard. Weller has to fight against his own onslaught of Necromorphs, as he attempts to get both him and Lexine to safety.

Dead Space 2: Severed has no release date yet, but will be available for purchase on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Network. No PC version is currently planned.

Unbelievable!!! What is it with the console games getting the DLC's and the PC versions nothing? Am I missing something here? First it was Dead Rising 2, then Fallout New Vegas and now this!!!

UPDATE: An Electronic Arts representative has confirmed that Dead Space: Severed will *not* be released for the PC.

That sucks big time. I just don't get it. I know those giant corporations are all about profit so I don't understand why they are turning their backs on the PC market. And before someone says that piracy is the reason I'll remind you that it is the lamest excuse ever.

Interesting move. Gives wonder as to why anyone would now wish to invest in buying the PC version of the base game. It's obvious that it will not be a focal point of support nor growth.
I wonder if Steam et al will be seeing a demand for refunds on pre-orders once the news spreads throughout the PC gaming community. Probably not.
