How well did those new shiny digital titles do over the December period on Xbox Live Arcade? Thanks to math we can know the answer in fancy chart form.
That's right no goat sacrifice needed on this one. Doritos' Crash Course was certainly the winner as it was free. What did Dead Rising: Case West manage?
Dash Of Destruction was the Dorito-branded freebie given to everyone back in 2008 and last month they released Doritos' Crash Course and Harm’s Way also for free. Crash Course won over more of the XBLA crowd with it antics by a huge margin.
While Bomberman Live in 2007 sold mega hot cakes of around half a million copies, the almost-but-not-quite sequel Bomberman Battlefest had something of a dud debut. DLC Pinball FX Marvel, which added 4 new tables, did far better by comparison.
Quake Arena finally hit XBLA last month but wasn't snapped up much at all, according to the leaderboard numbers, and X-Men Arcade didn't fair all that well either. Microsoft's own The Path of Go, involving a complex AI thingie, completely tanked at just 320 people.
Dead Rising 2: Case West added over 64,000 in its first week which saw the digital-only title go on sale December 27th. It was more expensive than Capcom's Case 0 which meant it couldn't match those first week numbers.
