Visceral "would love" live action Dead Space, no "cheap cash-in"

Survival horror mega star Dead Space could become a live action movie if developer Visceral Games get their wish, but they won't be rushing into it.

The reason Dead Space is so popular is because they strive to do "everything right," says the studio. They'll be "doing the same with the film" if it starts up.

"We would love to have a live action film and we've had a lot of discussion," revealed Visceral art director Ian Milham. Already the franchise has two animated flicks under its belt, Dead Space: Downfall and Dead Space: Aftermath.

"One of the reasons Dead Space still exists and is popular is because we've made sure to do everything right," he continued. "So we're doing the same with the film, not just a cheap cash-in but to do something really worthwhile, so we'll see."

Dead Space 2 released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Check out our review. Would you welcome a live action flick of Dead Space, or does the idea of a Hollywood adaption scare you more than the highly acclaimed source material itself?

Dead Space movie would be awesome but only if it's going to be directed by someone competent and not "that" person (cough Uwe Boll).

Everyone loves a good horror survival movie, and the animated deaturette that accomapnied the CE of the original "Dead Space" (and released as a retail DVD) was very propular. Haven't been many good ones of late, with "Predators" and "Resident Eveil: Afer;ife" being the stand-outs. Combine the horror with space and you have a surefire hit.
