505 Games has announced a new Kinect sports title that will put the gamer in the role of a competitive swimmer, which will be sponsored by Olympic champion Michael Phelps.

According to developer Blitz Games, Michael Phelps - Push the Limit will capture the player's movements to accurately simulate swimming, and eventually try to beat Phelps himself in competition.

It'll be interesting to see what actions the player will have to make to do this game - will they actually have to lay flat on a table and pretend to swim? The game states it'll require perfect timing from the first push off the block to the stretch of the finish touch, as well as the swimming strokes in between.

Michael Phelps – Push the Limit will be released in June 2011 for the Xbox 360. Check out the official site here, and the trailer below.
