Ubisoft has just announced the development of Call of Juarez: The Cartel, the third game in the Call of Juarez series. Developed by Techland, Call of Juarez: The Cartel will be released worldwide for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in Summer 2011.

Set in the present day, Call of Juarez: The Cartel brings the best elements of the Wild West to a new and modern setting. As a first person shooter with a mature story, players can expect to embark on a journey that will take them from the heart of modern day Los Angeles, California to Juarez, Mexico.

"Call of Juarez: The Cartel is an action-packed shooter game with a strong story, interesting characters and a wide variety of gameplay options," said Adam Novickas, director of marketing at Ubisoft. "The game will bring the best elements of the Wild West into modern times with a very gritty and relevant plot."

Call of Juarez: The Cartel will be released in Summer 2011 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Lol really ubi, I know they said no new liscences but still, twisting the arm of an existing liscence and making something else to build off of the fans is kinda crazy.

They're making a classic wild west shooter into a modern day one....that's like they're intentionally trying to piss people off.
