Borderlands 2 confirmed

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford confirmed that the developer was working on Borderlands 2.

In an interview with VG247, he quipped: “I’m sure Duke will have some demands of me and I’ve gotta work on Borderlands 2, right?”

 
Pitchford had been cagey about whether Gearbox was working on a Borderlands 2. When it was falsely reported that Aliens: Colonial Marines had been canceled because of Borderlands 2, Pitchford stated: "I respect Jim (Sterling, Destructoid journalist) and his audience and I'm a little surprised he didn’t bother to try to e-mail myself or our folks before extrapolating that NeoGAF post even further. Jim even referenced Borderlands 2? What's Borderlands 2? Bah! And El Oh El!”

He had earlier called Borderlands 2 a "no-brainer", which is why this news is exciting, but not a surprise.

Whilst I found Borderlands to be quite boring and stale when playing it alone, it was a lot more enjoyable playing co-op. So even though I'm not dying to get my hands on a sequel, it'd still be a nice addition to my game library, and I'd really like a better ending this time!

I played quite awhile in single player and Although it was boring a few times, on hard, it became somewhat of a challenge..

I liked the game ass a no-brainer FPS - but would love to see a lot of changes in nr.2.
Better SP play, much MUCH better optimized for PC this time around. Graphics to guey - everything needs to be more tweakable and not having to rely on friendly communities to tell you how to tweak 3-5 ini files to achieve a gameplay that is acceptable to PC players...
