UbiSoft has announced that the next Assassin's Creed game will be announced in May.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot stated while speaking to investors on a conference call this afternoon that the new game will be released this year.

The publisher said it plans to pour more resources into the Assassin's Creed franchise to make it even more profitable.

Guillemot did not say anything about the plotline of the new game, of whether it'll remain with Ezio Auditore in Renaissance Italy, or if it'll take place in a whole new setting.

I hope they don't ruin the franchise, I am a HUGE AC fanboy but more games isn't always better. I'd rather they just concentrated on making the games as good as they can be and not just rushing them out.

AC 2 was definitley the best so far, AC B was very VERY good but I felt something was missing, it wasn't quite AC2... so please UBISOFT... take care with what you do!

Hopefully it's Assassin's Creed 3 this time. Not that Brotherhood wasn't fantastic in it's own right, but I just like the idea of transporting to a different era/location with a new assassin each game! :)
