Gamers pledging to buy Crysis 2 PC

Escapist Magazine is reporting that PC gamers have had it with piracy, and have posted an online petition pledging to legally purchase Crysis 2 and tell pirates to leave PC gaming alone.

The petition is called the "Crytek, We Care" petition, and states:

In response to today's Crysis 2 Beta leak, we who sign this online documents pledge to purchase a legal copy of Crysis 2. We also hope that this document shows that Crytek has a loyal PC fanbase that wishes to support their work, not rob them of it like the pirates who have constantly damaged our reputation as a gaming platform. Crytek, we care.

As if pirates are gonna care about some petition. They'll probably take this as a joke and just download even More pirated games!
When you've got torrent sites that tap into every site it possibly can to get the most torrents, how can anyone really expect to stop it? It'll get worse before it gets better.
And not to forget the people that upload all that stuff. Good luck trying to get them to sign that petition...

This isn't aimed at the pirates. This is aimed at Crytek - fans don't want the developer to abandon PC gaming.

Good to see the gaming community showing strong support for developers still trying hard to release quality PC games. Gaming Websites might also be a foru for such petitions. That would really add some 'oomph'.

I agree with you Jake_SI. Although I think that when the time comes the response of many of them will be the same.
