City Interactive announce that Sniper: Ghost Warrior has passed the one million sold milestone for the series, after combining Xbox 360 and PC sales.

This "bodes well" for the upcoming PS3 version which "adds a multitude of extras" exclusively to the SKU. A sequel to Ghost Warrior is already underway.

Seven months after the game launched the newly created IP managed one million in sales. City Interactive are starting up new "promotions and lifecycle pricing" to keep the Xbox 360, PC and PS3 sales going strong. The PS3 version gets exclusive features.

"A lot of hard work and dedication by the entire City Interactive team went into the development of Sniper: Ghost Warrior, so we are understandably pleased about the worldwide success of the game,” said Marek Tymiński, CEO of City Interactive.

“This success is the perfect backdrop to reveal details about some of the fantastic games that we currently have in our development pipeline, including the sequel to Sniper: Ghost Warrior and a couple of unannounced projects.”

A sequel to Sniper: Ghost Warrior began last year with the studio licensing Crytek's CryEngine 3 for the project. They've expanded the core development team and contacted additional high profiled 'outsourcing' studios to help collaborate.

I agree after 7 months 1 million is short, but they are happy and thats what matters.

After so many Steam sales on the game, I'm not surprised it's finally reached the mark. The game, however is pretty well disliked by everyone who's touched it. Bad reviews by every gamer I've talked to have kept me away.
