Mirror's Edge remains "important"

EA insists that the Mirror's Edge franchise remains "important" to them despite recent reports that work on a sequel had "stalled" over at DICE.

The studio is heavily focused on the upcoming Battlefield 3 right now. EA has "nothing further to announce" where Mirror's Edge is concerned.

The first-person rooftop jumper is "an important franchise," affirms EA, but right there's "nothing further to announce." EA senior VP Patrick Soderlund recently revealed in an interview that the "project has been stopped," referring to DICE's sequel efforts.

Right now DICE is very busy making Battlefield 3 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Well I for one don't hope it will be released soon, and why? Because of the fact it has been labeled disappointing by EA.
I would rather have them to take a year or two too make a more decent game than what it is now apparently.

EA have killed many of their top titles in the last years and they admit it themselves that they "milked" these titles to gain money, but lost in the end.
Therefore I say lets us hope this is the proof of what EA have learned...that quality is better than quantity of gameproduction.

Cancelled doesn't necessarily mean they cant bring it back next year after BF3 has been released I guess. But it would have made a little more sense to simply say that the game has been 'shelved' for an undecided period of time.
