Sonic fan film speeds into view

In 2005 a dedicated Sonic fan called Richard Kuta set out to make a feature length animated film based on the popular video game character Sonic the Hedgehog. Sega of American and Universal Pictures took an interest into the project, but it was later rejected by Sega's Japanese branch in 2007.

Since then the project has become an independent fan film, with the first preview being released today for all Sonic fans to enjoy. You can watch the preview below:



As you can see, the preview cuts short just before Sonic is about to do battle. It'll be interesting to see how the animation holds in fight scenes. We'll keep an eye on the project and will let you know when anything else develops.

Update: Richard has sent us a few more videos that were released in 2009.
