Countdown to Elder Scrolls V 'in-game look'
Posted: 24.02.2011 01:03 by JonahFalcon Comments: 18
Bethesda has posted a strange countdown on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for the premiere of an 'in game look' at the game. 'In game look' might mean a live stream of actual gameplay, which would very interesting.

The countdown will hit 0 at 3pm GMT/10am EST.

I've never been all that interested in the Elder Scrolls games, but I might check this out anyway. Perhaps this could be the one that peaks my interest.

With my dispappintment with the "Dragon Age II" PC demo, and after having a blast with "ES IV", I'm looking forward to what Bethesda has to offer with the new engine and game.

I think the Dragon Age 2 demo is great (as do 99% of people who've tried it), but I guess it's type of gameplay isn't for everyone. But, if you liked Origins, then it's quite likely you'll like DA2 as well. :)

There's plenty of gameplay videos, but why not just try the demo for yourself.. though if you really cant be bothered, you can watch one of the guys at G4TV playing through the demo here:

Ah my mistake sorry, thought you were responding to the previous comments regarding DA2. As for Skyrim, the countdown is at the link below.. still 8 hours.

99% Jake?
Must be all those who weren't on the Forums I was. I can't compare it with the original, as I never played it. But what I feel, and what many have also posted is that BioWare have sold out to the console market for this sequel. It felt very much multi-platform game, whereas from the video reviews I've watched on the first distinguish the PC version substantially.
Then again, I'm disppointed with the "TW: Shogun 2" demo as well, and feel it has not been long enough between titles in the series. Go to the Sega Forums though and it is full of fanboys heaping praise on a game that's not even released yet, and deleting posts from dissenters.
Never been a BioWare follower, wheras I have played several Bethesda titles...perhaps that's where the difference in what we like/dislike lies.

Well, 99% was an exaggeration, but I've seen very little negativity towards it so far, from what I've seen across a few different sites is that most people have enjoyed the demo. I will agree that they've obviously tried to make the game a bit more console friendly, but it hasn't affected the game in a bad way in my opinion, nor can you blame them really. Afterall, they are running a business, making the game a success on all platforms is how they maximise profit. I'm just glad that in doing so, they haven't ruined or removed the style of gameplay which made Origins so great. The same cant be said for many other developers these days.

I have to say that I'm not overly impressed with DragonAge nor how Bioware has developed over the years. But then again - I never felt impressed by the KOTOR feel - the first game that really took the multiplatform feel.

Dragon Age, could have been so good, but the story, the characters, the romances and then on top of that - the hollowness of the world around you that after awhile just don't make you that interested in it. BioWare had great D&D titles, the understanding and richness of the world made you anticipating the loading screens with all the fun little extras, the knowledge that you would wander in your realm of wonder. Wandering in Dragon age is as tedious as hunting Mandelorians in KOTOR - you walk - you come into threat range - you fight. You can't even prepair a battle ground with traps, because the event - the battle you prepare for takes place on a different map - when battle is over - you can take back your traps. So many design flaws...
BioWare has gone from making really good games and stories to just trying to deliver an interactive story - I hope Dragon Age 2 does that job as well as ME2 did. When it comes to gameplay that is fun - I think Skyrim will kick Fereldens ass - with ease!

Elder Scrolls really needs to go on-line. I think if it's done right it could ruin WoW.
I can't wait to see this new version.

Loved ES since Arena (but not F3), so I hope I'm gonna love that one as well. Very interesting.

Especially when the modding community get a hold of it, V4ndall. I've already modded the demo for "Total War: Shogun 2" and I'm close to playing the full game:)
