LEGO Universe developer NetDevil, based in Colorado, have laid-off "a lot of talented folks" reveals a now former employee. The studio has cut "over 20 people."

Only a "very, VERY small team" is retained for LEGO Universe. Numerous former staff have posted NetDevil tombstones on their Facebook profiles.

According to the former developer the US studio has let go a significant portion of their staff. They were informed over night via calls from management about their redundancy reports animator Toby Cochran. NetDevil developed MMO LEGO Universe.

"Unfortunately a lot of talented folks lost their jobs as we have found out on Facebook,” said Cochran on his blog, in a post entitled 'Laid of (sic) from NetDevil'.

“I personally think it's pretty terrible to find news out that way and not to be correctly notified. We all were receiving phone calls tonight and I just got mine about 2 hrs ago.” He claims that only “a handful of artists will be kept on board” for the moment.

They will be continuing work on LEGO Universe but “at the moment that will be a very, VERY small team. As the count continues to rise on FB, they've cut over 20 people.”

NetDevil has not issued comment to these events and neither has Gazillion.
