Resident Evil movie maker Screen Gems has also landed the film rights to Capcom's Devil May Cry franchise, with scribe Kyle Ward penning the script.

Screenwriter Ward is attached to the Kane & Lynch adaptation. Screen Gems has spun gold out of the Resident Evil films, raking in $580m globally.

The latest instalment was the 3D supported 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' which grossed nearly $300 million alone. Devil May Cry is the IP up next for some silver screen time. The movie joins a planned anime series as well as manga and toy merchandise.
