Killzone 3 sales disappointing
Posted: 04.03.2011 04:42 by Comments: 12
The sales for Killzone 3 have been disappointing in its first week, selling only 500K units, which is a third of what Killzone 2 did in its first week of release.

Killzone 2 sold 2.58M units in its lifetime, and considering the budget Sony pumped into 3, it would be a disaster if it only managed to move 860K, if the same ratio continues for 3s lifetime. While its unlikely Killzone 3 will sell less than 1M, it might not outsell its predecessor.

The original Killzone for the PlayStation 2 sold 760K units.

I think it might have something to do with the general lack of anticipation with this one. Killzone 2 had this long dragged-out almost hype going on. This one barely get's mentioned.

It might get good by the time it reaches Killzone 19. Or perhaps they can make a new game? A new RTS game? xD going off topic...

I never liked this game much to be honest.

Well, Killzone 3 had great reviews - unfortunately it is a FPS - for PS3 FPS I want my Banco Fragnstein to work - on Killzone 3 it doesn't - not without having a very peculiar firmware - and the demo - not that much to be hyped about as a PC first player.

Ah! WTH! Go out there and freakin' buy it! This game beats the pants off KZ2!

Still a FPS on PS3 - not really my thing and the price for PS3 games is seriously way too high...

Well so far the only thing I was a bit disappointed about with KZ3 is the MP mode. Not a whole lot of customization going on in there.
Oh well, maybe Brink will change that. Assuming it doesn't suck. :S

Yeah - I also have high hopes for Brink!

I think its because PS3 was banned from Europe and Killzone 3 didin't get any sales there.

Yeah that was a pretty dumb move on Sony's part.

Well I live in Europe, Denmark, and I know the PS3 was banned, but you could still by PS3 here so I doubt it was the reason for the disappointed sales number.

Besides there are already many who have PS3 so why should it drop the sales numbers in europe to a third??? I mean each "big gamename" does not bring 1 million new users too the PS3...so I seriously doubt that the banned PS3 case is the reason
