Developer Human Head Studios created Prey and they return for the sequel which is scheduled to release next year for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

They're working with Bethesda for the sequel. The team is excited to "explore a new facet" of Prey's universe which features"an open, alien world."

"We are thrilled to be working with Bethesda on Prey 2," said Human Head's Chris Rhinehart. "Prey 2 will provide gamers the opportunity to explore a new facet of the Prey universe, one that offers fast-paced action in an open, alien world."

"We're excited to show gamers the title we have been working on and hope they will be as excited by this title as we are."

It was reported that Prey 2 would be using the id Tech 5 game engine but Bethesda's Pete Hines has dismissed that claim saying only id Software's Rage is using it fully right now as the engine is still in development itself.

"This game has been in development for quite a while and id Tech 5 is still in progress (until Rage ships, and probably even after). So it really wasn't an option," said Hines. Prey involves aliens abducting us poor inferior humans and treating us like meat.

Are you looking forward to unleashing Native American spirit justice on those pesky invaders was more, videogamer? It's coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2012.

Haven't heard anything about Doom 4 lately, perhaps we'll hear more at E3 2011.
