Activision and EA square off in court this May, a $400m lawsuit

The bitter and long running legal jabs between Activision and EA will really start this May as California Superior Court Judge Elihu Berle gives the green light.

Activision is to proceed with a 'contract interference' lawsuit against EA worth $400 million. The judge said sufficient facts exist to permit a full court hearing.

This is of course all related to the firing of former Infinity Ward bosses Frank West and Vince Zampella who now are best chums with Electronic Arts. Activision accuses EA of luring away the two high profile developers as well as other former employees.

The line in the sand is drawn - now we wait it out.

I have a bad felling that this lawsuit against EA is going to ruin Activision.
We will wait and see how the situation develops.

If either gets ruined is fine by me, heck both would be even better.

Lets just hope EA gets the bad side of the deal and not Acti. Acti owns Infinity Ward, and they are making the next call of duty, and it would be awful if they got ruined too.

I don't think that this can anything to EA, they own to many studios and make a lot more money, (don't think that i like EA i hate them, for destroying the C&C series), they got to a point where EA will never die, no mater what happens.

Both are not the nicest and this is a match I have a trouble feeling sympathy for either. If either break - what would happen with the game studios then? One could hope for more independent studios again but somehow I doubt it.
