Torn Banner Studios is releasing its first commercial title with Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, an online "skill-based" first-person melee combat game.
Instead of guns we get "swords, shields, maces, longbows, catapults" and other medieval contraptions to play with. Battles are multi-staged with objectives.
It's developed by the people behind Age Of Chivalry the Half-Life 2 mod. Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is being created with the Unreal Development Kit, which was formerly known as Chivalry: Battle for Agatha.
Here's the official blurb:
CHIVALRY: Medieval Warfare is a first-person medieval online combat experience that seeks to deliver the intensity of epic Hollywood medieval block busters to the hands of a gamer. Centered around melee combat in the middle ages, the game is skill-based and controls like a FPS, but instead of guns, players are given swords, shields, maces, longbows, catapults and many other medieval weapons and battle it out in lush medieval environments. Battles have multiple stages and objectives such as smashing in the castles gate with a battering ram or razing and pillaging your opponent's encampment.
Below is an in-game alpha stage teaser for Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.
