A fan-made mock up of what sci-fi movie Moon would look like as a point-n-click adventure game using the SCUMM toolset has drawn some envious eyes.

Ron Gilbert, creator of SCUMM (Monkey Island), said it "would have made a great SCUMM game." Moon's director Duncan Jones says it 'must happen'.

The SCUMM creation tool is responsible for the likes of Monkey Island, Full Throttle, and The Dig. A mock image of what Moon would appear to look like as an adventure game reached the movie's creators and even Ron Gilbert himself.

"Moon would have made a great SCUMM game," twittered Gilbert. But more importantly for the film fan, Moon director Duncan Jones is in love with the idea.

"I want to play that!!! I want to hear Clint Mansell's score in 8-bit audio!!" he twittered.

"Seriously...that was one of the best things I have seen in ever. That needs to be an iPhone game...iPad too...Seriously thinking that if there was ever to be a direct Moon sequel, it may work best as a point and click adventure."

Check out the Moon mock up tribute.

While appreciating the talent, I'm just not and never will be into the Retro genre.

I never could understand this type of game ,maybe Apple will make this an Iphone application, as it was said, more money for Apple.

Nothing wrong with a good adventure game. Though the older ones can get rather frustrating if there aren't enough clues and you are aimlessing combining items and scenery!

It looks pretty good. I don't doubt that it's a great game based on the comments. :)
