SouthPeak Interactive has announced today that a delay for Stronghold 3 has been put in place to move the release date back to this summer. The publisher assures us that this delay was made to ensure that Stronghold 3 includes a host of great new features.

"We want to make sure fans get the game they want and deserve," said Stronghold 3's designer Simon Bradbury. "Although some may be disappointed the game isn't coming out as soon as they expected, we’re sure they won’t be disappointed with the new elements we’re adding to the franchise, to make this the best Stronghold yet."

Stronghold 3 features night time battles, improved multiplayer modes and an updated graphics engine. It will release exclusively for the PC this summer.

Stronghold never appealed to me and I don't see much in this title to make me wanting to try it on.

Whatever they need to do to bring this once brilliant strategy title back from the nether regions is fine by me.

@ Herodotus. That's the spirit.

I always enjoyed the Stronghold series and can't wait for this one.
