Publisher JoWood has confirmed that ArcaniA - Gothic 4's add-on Fall of Setarrif has been delayed "indefinitely," citing brewing legal troubles for the game.

In fact they call its legal background "unclear and diverse" surrounding the main games funding. Until this is cleared up JoWood are keeping it on hold.

"It’s uncertain whether the game can be released onto the market in its current form,” said Stefan Berger, JoWood Business Development Manager, “of course this must be investigated and settled before the release - unfortunately.”

Fall of Setarrif was due to be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Never liked the Gothic series that much - always been a TES fan. Gothic 4 felt like it came when a lot of games of the same style came - and none could really offer what TES games offered.

"Acania" has no right to even bear the name "Gothic" as it shares virtually nothing with it's predecessors (having more in common with the excellent "Risen", aside from quality). The series is just plain dead. If you, like me thought "Gothic III" was a maggot-ridden cursed love child of JoWood, then "Arcania" would be the festering afterbirth.

@Hero - I do and I thank you for warning me to stay the heck away from it! Not even sheer morbid curiosity will get me close to this one - nor STEAM super sales ;)

Yes, don't anyone going crying to the gaming police shouting "I've been JoWooded". You've been warned.

KoWood and Deepsilver has a rather low score in my book - they were very quick joining the Pirates are to blame for everything bandwagon and had many StarForce and SecuROM titles early on.
Thy also had an unmagic touch to many titles they got their hands on... :S

The last good game from JoWood that I played was the beyond excellent "Panzer Elite" (not the rubbish arcade sequel "Panzer Elite Action"). RPG elements in a Tank sim...brilliant.
