Levine: Take-Two "pretty bold" on mature stuff, no 'dumb down'

2K Boston's Irrational Games' Ken Levine has said publisher Take-Two is "pretty bold" when it comes to letting games explore more mature themes, like BioShock.

In fact "in their shoes," Levine doesn't know if he'd have "written a check" for BioShock at all. If there is any 'dumb down' in BioShock Infinite then it's "for me," he jokes.

He declared Take-Two are "pretty bold on this stuff," when talking about BioShock's rather mature game narrative, and they got green lit "almost immediately.”

"Frankly, in their shoes, I don’t know if I would have written a check for it. ‘Trust me! The kids love objectivism!’," added Levine. BioShock took the world by storm proving to be a massive hit seemingly from out of nowhere.

"With some of the stuff we’re doing on Infinite, I need to dumb it down for me,” he commented. He assured that Take-Two haven't made any demands to have it 'appeal more broadly' by dumbing down the material. Hopefully then it's a shocking as the first.

BioShock: Infinite releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2012.

L.A. Noire is proof positive of it.

Already seen this, but looks pretty good, looking forward to this one, if it is as good as the first it will be a must.
