Minecraft hits 2M paid users

Minecraft has hit the 2M paid users mark, according to the stats page.: "7065521 registered users, of which 2013744 (28.5%) have bought[*] the game."

The game is due to be released on November 11, 2011, but it already has a huge subscribership. One has to wonder what the game will be like in a year, after its official release.

It's rather exciting to see where this project goes. So far I've not been drawn into the game, but I'd be interested to try it out.

This will clearly become the WoW of sandox games-a huge behemoth every other game wished it were.

You should try it out. It's really fun, cringing out the creative/practical side of you.

My only problem is its unfinished nature - for example a project that was perfect in v1.4, on which I spent a great deal of time and effort, is useless in v1.5.

Naturally, I know it's in beta, so it isn't a legitimate complaint. I strongly encourage everyone to get this gem on the cheap.

Yeah, I am one of those 2m.

For those who've wanted to give the full version a try, I believe notch released a 90 minute timed demo which will give you a feel for how things go.
